Extensions were great… till they weren’t.

Don’t get me wrong I still love them for other people but with my thinning hair I need more coverage than they can give me.

It got to a point where I was afraid to move my head or else my extensions were going to show.

Even when they were meticulously colored to match my hair and placed perfectly.

I knew it was time to try a solution that I never considered for myself before…

And that was wigs.

Wigs don’t have to scream “fake.”

My guest came in we measured her, chatted about color and cut preferences and then we ordered her piece!

Once it came in, I further customized the color and shape.

Then the real fun began when she finally got to put it on for the very first time!

Today I literally threw my wig on in the parking lot before walking into the salon.

I never thought I’d say this... but getting ready has actually become fun again.

The more I wear my wig, the more it feels like me.

The weirdest part?

I’ll edit a video and see a clip of myself without it and think, “Whoa... that’s not how I picture myself anymore.”

Somehow, this little piece of hair has become the version of me I always saw in my head.

And if you’ve ever felt guilty for loving the hair that gives you your confidence back... don’t.

Sometimes confidence isn’t about changing who you are.

I had so many assumptions about what wearing a wig would be like.

I thought it would look obvious, feel uncomfortable, and constantly remind me that my hair sucked.

So I pushed the idea away.

But after experiencing hair loss myself, I finally decided to try one.

And honestly... it wasn’t anything like I expected.

Now I can get ready in minutes, have the hair I used to wish for, and stop spending so much mental energy worrying about whether my extensions are showing that day.
