Commitment to excellence has been a foundational value of Esther’s since she was a young lady. This commitment to excellence is what propelled her to attend and graduate from the best high school and then the best university in her region with a degree in teaching. Esther was a successful teacher in Korea but unfortunately, her degree was of no use in America. For the sake of the survival of her t
wo children, she took on the first job available as a nail technician. Her commitment to excellence, coupled with her artistry and detailed orientation, made the transition smooth and mastery quick. For 17 years she worked hard, kept food on the table, and watched her children grow and thrive but deep down she was dissatisfied and wanted to quit. Acrylic was not only harming her health but was slowly deteriorating the nails of her precious customers. Then came along the new technology of dipping powder nails and she was ecstatic! She assumed that the nail shop she worked for would transition into this new and eco-friendly product but realized that because of profit, they were unwilling to give up acrylic. It was time to take action! Esther decided to take a risk and opened an anti-acrylic nail shop in Florida and named it Excellence Nails. After a successful several years, she was convinced that this would also work in Texas where her children resided and opened up Excellence Nails Studio in Frisco. Boosted with confidence from the previous success and acceptance of the gift she had with the use of her hands, Esther not only opened a non-acrylic only nail shop, which her customer loves so much, but she also certified for micro blading for those who desire to have the look of natural and lush eyebrows. The idea of micro blading came from her own dissatisfaction toward her tattooed eyebrows. Esther’s goal for the future is to open a larger salon to accommodate larger amounts of customers and set a trend for an eco-friendly cosmetic industry. She also wants to open a cosmetology school where she can incorporate her past and current mastered craft of teaching and cosmetic art. In the end, she wants to impart her value of excellence and help people develop a skill that brings joy and confidence to their beloved customers while providing a sustainable income.
