Hello everyone! Hope you guys have had a wonderful week ♥️

We, at Franklins’ Family Barbershop, would like to announce that our barbershop is closing soon, with our last day being July 29th, 2026.

Our shop first opened on October 12, 2011. We started as a dream under Lou Franklin. That dream was inspired by his mother, Carolyn B. King, who was in the hair industry for 50 years prior to her retirement. Our mission was to strive to be a place where people can feel welcomed and comfortably get a haircut.

Over the years, we have expanded our services to further serve our community for the homeless, for the church, and for those who are in need. We even had an academy to teach those who are willing to pursue their skills in the chair.

It has been long years of dedication and hard work to keep up with the changing times. It has been an era that we have graciously experienced and will forever always cherish in our hearts.

We’d like to thank everyone who has been with us since the very beginning of this journey, faithfully supporting us to the end. Your loyalty and encouragement have meant more to us than words can express.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chuck McCoy and Pete Dorsey for standing by us until the very end, willing to help us in times of need.

A special thank you to Stan Brown, who has been by Lou’s side until his passing, and Pete Beale, along with Luey Ulloa, who were close to Lou and always believed in his vision.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Lou’s brother-in-law, Bruce Lansdowne, Lou’s cousin, Gina Hayes, and Lou’s aunt, Paulette Hawthorne, for their unconditional support.

Additionally, we want to express our appreciation to our families for always being there for us throughout the years.

We’d also like to recognize Raquel Perdomo, who recently joined the team and helped promote Franklins’ Family Barbershop through our social media posts.

Although this chapter is coming to a close, Lou’s legacy will continue through his daughter, Anay Dunn, and her barbershops, The Cave Haircuts for Men, in North Carolina.
