If someone is experiencing hallucinations, delusions, extreme confusion, or is at immediate risk of harming themselves or their baby, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately. Postpartum psychosis is a psychiatric emergency and requires urgent medical care.

🤍 A gentle reminder:
Postpartum depression affects about 1 in 5 mothers, and postpartum psychosis, while much rarer (about 1–2 in every 1,000 births), is a real and treatable medical condition. Neither is a reflection of someone’s love for their child or their character. With treatment and support, people recover.

We would like to share a little behind-the-scenes reminder:

When Emerald + Onyx is closed, we’re really closed.

That means our team is at home with our families, cheering at little league games, catching up on laundry, spending time with the people we love, or simply taking a much-needed moment to recharge so we can show up as our best selves for you.

If you need to call to cancel or reschedule an appointment while we’re closed, please leave us just one voicemail with your name and appointment details. Your voicemail is time-stamped, and as long as it’s left at least 24 hours before your appointment, you won’t be charged a cancellation fee, even if we don’t hear it until we’re back in the salon. This applies to cancellations via text or email as well.

We know plans change, and we truly understand. We promise we’re not ignoring you, we’re just humans who occasionally get to unplug, too. 🤍
