This tattered book is one of my most valuable possessions and greatest books on trauma recovery. It may not appear to be a philosophy book upon reading the synopsis, but give it one read through and profound wisdom is easily found in every exciting adventure along the way. Whenever life feels harsh and demanding, I set it alongside the story here and gain a new perspective. I remember it’s all just one big wild story and nothing really matters. Just love. ❤️ If you can find this book, I highly recommend jumping in

Our external reality is meant to reflect our internal programming: how we think, act, plan based on what we are FEELING as a result of that external world. Take back control by shifting the internal experience rather than trying to control the external one. It is a mirror, use it.

CPTSD can be so challenging to manage because emotional flashbacks often appear to be “personality traits” as opposed to being a symptom of past trauma (often childhood trauma that can be pre-verbal) that needs love and acceptance to heal.
Catching that what you are experiencing is a “feeling based” flashback (as opposed to a visual flashback) takes some evaluation while you are in the experience.
Having this written tool in arms reach of my bed has been very beneficial in shifting out of emotional flashbacks more quickly. Here are some tips to self evaluate if you may be in emotional flashback.
Take care of yourself, sending you massive love 💗 this work is not easy and I’m proud of you.

Jerk it, babe.
The unexpected, and at times frequent, disruptions of cptsd can often lead to feeling like a “victim” over and over again. There are hidden gifts within that pain

Grief is a heavy emotion to carry. And oftentimes overwhelming to experience. Which is why sometimes we choose to carry it instead of experiencing it. If we will allow the heaviness of grief to carry us into the parts INSIDE our own bodies that still feel the pain, and just be present with those parts, we can experience profound shifts in what that grief is saying to us. From “life is too painful to continue experiencing, I don’t want to be here” to “wow, I have incredible capacity to feel and to love and to extend empathy to others to the point I actually TAKE ON their pain. And this too is part of life, and I am strong enough to love my way through it every time”. Same experience, completely different FEELING. We have that power. We are just that strong. 💗 ILY Keep Rising
