When I’m not a in mom, wife or YOUR FAVORITE NAIL TECH mode you’ll find me looking off into a gaze with a blank face.

More times then not I’m thinking of my mom.

Wondering would she be here with us in Arizona?
Would she have remarried?
What would she think of my house?
Wondering if my son would be taller then her?

And almost every time I’m going down into this silent spiral of mental thoughts my dog Rocky jumps up to sit beside me. I look at him, smile and say to him “Grandmommy would have loved you”.

I miss being someone’s daughter. Having someone to call during a silent car drive between point A and B. Someone to text a proud moment of my son to. Or just the guaranteed reassurance without a doubt I most definitely can depend on this person feeling.

If my mom were here today, living and breathing, I would of most definitely celebrated her in a very inappropriate way being it’s her 69th bday. I would of made her laugh, while feeling loved & appreciated no matter the distance between us.

I’m planning to still do that, just in a different way.
