If you’ve been an extension client of mine for a while, you may have noticed that some of my tools have changed recently. 👀

And while these little upgrades might not seem like a big deal from the client’s side of the chair… they actually are.

As part of my continued extension education and training, I was required to upgrade some of the tools I use every day.

Why?

Because extension work is all about the details.

The right tools help me create cleaner sectioning, more consistent rows, better control and a more precise overall installation. And when I’m working with your natural hair, those details matter.

I’m always looking for ways to refine my technique, continue my education and make sure I’m giving my extension clients the best experience I can.

So if you’ve noticed a few new tools in my hand lately… now you know why. 🤎

Sometimes growth behind the chair looks like something as simple as a new comb. ✨

This is one section of my mannequin extension practice, including corrections from my hair extension educator. And while it may look like a few lines on a mannequin, these details are a huge part of creating a beautiful, natural-looking extension result.

Extension sectioning isn’t simply about dividing the hair into rows.

Each section has to fall within specific parameters while taking into consideration:

✨️ The client’s current hair and density
✨️ Their desired end result
✨️ The length and weight being added
✨️ Their natural growth patterns
✨️ Their bone structure and head shape
✨️ How the extensions will move and blend with their natural hair

And this is why extension placement can’t be one-size-fits-all.

Every row and every section is strategically customized to the individual client and their hair. Sometimes the placement needs to be adjusted by just a little to create the right balance, fullness, movement, and comfort.

The goal is for the extensions to feel like they were made for you — because they were. ✨

There’s a lot more to seamless extensions than what you see in the finished photo. The artistry starts with the sectioning.

It starts before I ever pick up a brush.

I listen to you. Your goals, your concerns, your lifestyle, your hair history. You deserve to feel heard.

I look beyond the inspiration photos. I consider your natural hair, your lifestyle, and what will actually work for you.

Every color formula, foil or extension placement, and detail has a purpose.

I always share the why - not just tell you what to do.

Acheiving your hair goals shouldn't mean sacrificing the hair you have.

I’ve been a little quiet around here lately. 🤎

Not because there wasn’t anything happening… but because there was actually a lot happening behind the scenes.

Life has been full of some really meaningful things that needed my time, attention, and presence—and I’m learning to be okay with letting some things take a backseat when life calls for it.

That includes this little corner of the internet.

And honestly? It’s been a good reminder.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to keep up. To show up. To grow. To accomplish. To make everything look like it’s moving forward all the time.

But life isn’t linear.

Sometimes you move forward.
Sometimes you pause.
Sometimes you take a completely different path.
And sometimes the most important growth is happening where no one else can see it.

So if you’ve been comparing your chapter to someone else’s, I hope you’ll give yourself some grace.

You are not behind.

You are not late.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You’re allowed to live your life in the timing that feels right for *you.*

And when you’re ready, you can always begin again. 🌿

There are days when I catch myself looking around the salon and thinking, how lucky am I that this is my job? ✨️

Yes, I love creating beautiful hair. I love the creativity, the transformations, and helping you feel confident when you leave my chair.

But what has always meant the most to me is you.

Over the years, so many of you have become a part of my life. I've celebrated pregnancy announcements, engagements, weddings, new homes, career changes, and exciting new chapters alongside you. I've also been there during seasons of loss, heartbreak, uncertainty, and the moments when sitting in the salon chair was simply a chance to breathe for a while.

It's incredible to think that what starts as a hair appointment, often grows into years of conversation, laughter and encouragement.

Thank you for not only trusting me with your hair, but also your stories.

Your support allows me to live out a career I love, and I will never take that for granted. Every appointment, every referral, every kind word, every time you choose to spend hours in my chair.. it means more than you know.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for letting me be a small part of your lives. I appreciate every single one of you. 🤎

Sometimes what your hair needs isn’t a full color appointment, but just a gloss or toner!

The two may seem similar, but they’re actually doing two very different jobs in your hair. Some hair appointments we may need to fix tone, and other visits we may just need to bring the shine back.

It all depends on your hair and what it needs which is why I never just “pick one”.

I know it can be a little confusing, so let’s break it down:

✨️ Toner: neutralizes unwanted tones (like brassiness)

✨️Gloss: adds shine, richness + refreshes your color
