Safe Sitter is back at the Grants Pass Family YMCA, and it just got better!

If you have a pre-teen or teen who's looking to start babysitting, this is hands-down the best way to get them ready. We’ve expanded our Safe Sitter® program to include official CPR certification, giving them the confidence and real-world skills they need to step into any babysitting job.

It’s a fun, 2-part course designed for ages 11–16 that goes far beyond basic instruction. They’ll get hands-on manikin practice, dive into interactive role-playing, and learn alongside other teens in small group games.

Part 1 kicks off on August 8, followed by Part 2 on August 15.

POOL FUNDRAISER UPDATE!

Huge news, Grants Pass! Thanks to our incredible community, we’ve raised nearly $300,000 so far for the Grants Pass Family YMCA pool!
..But our pool is still missing one major detail: A DIVING BOARD!

We are making amazing progress, but we need your help to cross the finish line and make sure our pool has everything it needs for maximum summer fun.

Also, the pool will be closed for at least a month for a resurfacing project. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this will allow us to give the pool at least another 20 years of use.

Session Details:
K–3rd Grade: 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM ($60–$75)
4th–8th Grade: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ($75–$90)

Machine Orientation is BACK starting August 5!

Need help figuring out a machine, or just looking to work out with an instructor and group? We've got you covered!

During orientation, an instructor will be on hand to guide you through proper technique and show you how to get the most out of our equipment safely and confidently.

When: Wednesdays at 12:30 pm

Registration is officially open for the Grants Pass Family YMCA’s Out of School Time (OST) Program for the 2026–2027 school year! If you have a kiddo in grades K–5th, here is why this program is a total lifesaver:

Stress-Free Transportation: Bus pickup is available directly from Allendale, Fruitdale, Highland, Lincoln, Madrona, Parkside, Redwood, and Riverside Elementary.

Flexible Schedule Options: Choose from 2-day, 3-day, Friday-only, or full 5-day care options starting at just $50–$115/week.
