Building Strength is Hard…

But, so is feeling weak!

Bodybuilding became my life for the best part of 14 years.

The wise advice is to never put all your eggs into one basket. But I had one egg and one basket, for me it was bodybuilding or nothing at all.

I promised myself that I’d never go back to the Youth Detention Centre, something positive would come from bodybuilding. This was for me.

It became a passion of mine. Consuming all the knowledge and advice that was available, again something good was going to come from this. My full focus was on bodybuilding. I left behind the nights of partying inside clubs and instead swapped them for door work and working various day jobs.

Bodybuilding gave me something positive to strive towards. Week after week, month after month, my body was changing.

But so was my life. I was going to work every day, seeing my son Lewis, heading to the gym, sleeping and then back to work.

So it became a passion of mine and when I have a keen interest in something, I explore and give it my all… to the max.

Subjects at school didn’t really interest me, I just couldn’t get into the topics.
Once I’d learnt to read, write and do basic maths, what was I taught that I have ever used in life? Nothing really.

It was never a case of, “How much money can I make from this?”
When I realised that I could make something of myself through this sport, it became my mission. I wanted to take it to the max, push myself as far as possible and cement my name in the history books.

That’s what was of value to me. 01/05/2024
