Lemongrass & Rosemary and Peppermint, Lavender & Orange went out in spring and have been gone since. We have heard about it. Both are back on the site today.

We would love to blame a supplier delay, but it’s you. Nobody buys one of these. They buy one, they like it, and the next order is three, because a balm you actually reach for does not stay in one place. It goes in the car. It lives in a coat pocket until October. Somebody’s teenager takes it and does not give it back. The good ones disappear. The bad ones sit in a drawer for two years, which is the only reason most people think they don’t go through lip balm.

Here is what’s in them. All of it.

Peppermint, Lavender & Orange: sweet almond oil, beeswax, mango butter, avocado oil, peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil, orange essential oil.

Lemongrass & Rosemary: almond oil, beeswax, mango butter, avocado oil, lemongrass essential oil, rosemary essential oil.

Seven ingredients. Six ingredients. That’s it.

The scent comes from essential oils, not flavor oil. Flavor oil is what makes a drugstore balm taste like birthday cake and leaves your lips worse than it found them, because sweet on your mouth means you lick, and licking is what chapped you in the first place. There is nothing here to lick off.

Peppermint, Lavender & Orange is the loud one. Peppermint hits first and cools, lavender rounds off the edge, orange keeps it from going medicinal.

Lemongrass & Rosemary is the quiet one. Herbal, green, clean, nothing sweet anywhere in it. This is the one that converts people who swear they hate scented anything.

Underneath both, mango butter and beeswax hold a barrier that survives a glass of water, with sweet almond and avocado oil so it glides instead of dragging across a lip that’s already split.

The third one never left. Mango Butter & Colloidal Oatmeal is the one we hand to people at the market whose lips crack open every winter.
