A small town girl with big dreams to touch lives through Hair Art. When I was about 8 years old, my mom’s friend would come over and some Sunday nights and give me twin french braids. The Mondays after were my favorite day to go to school. Everyone would comment on how cool my hair looked and I felt beautiful. My friend would say I wish I could have my hair like that... And So it Began; My love for helping others feel beautiful thru Hair Art! A yarn hair cabbage patch was mannequin and my brother my mentor. My brother would watch as our mom friend braided my hair, and the spent countless hours with me, as he helped me recreate her work. Finally, one day, sitting on the play house steps, I GOT IT! Then, I gave it to my three best friends in the neighbor hood. Then, the middle school softball team, with colorful bows. Next the track team, and the soccer team. When given the chance to study Cosmetology at WCTHS, it was a must. Many teachers tried to hold me back from this decision, based on academic grades. Mainly my calculus teacher who stated “ No student in the history of this school has ever taken Calculus in 11 grade and Cosmetology. You are throwing your life away!” Fortunately, I listen to my Heart more often than I should and responded, “Life is nothing without Passion!!”
