Craig had an unused area under his deck with an amazing view. He reached out to us to design and build a sauna “just right” for the space, and I’d like to think we did OK 😬

Spruce interior with cedar benches, Harvia Virta heater, two large insulated windows overlooking the pond, and enough space for the whole family to sweat, rinse, and repeat!

Had a lot of fun with this 6-person sauna build for the Stacy fam in Northern KY. The windows were designed to match the house, and colors to go with their large back porch. Interior is all spruce (with a cedar floor) for a super clean yet budget-friendly finish. Delivery was a bit of a challenge but in the end, couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!

This is why we LOVE building saunas!! A customer from this past fall sent us this photo along with the following update:

“Just an update. We were in the sauna last night. Frigid temps. Heat up time was still only an hour. Only takes 2-3 small wood splits at a time to keep temp at 190. And honestly, I have to watch to not overload stove and shoot temps too high. Incredible performance.“ 😍

We take pride in our sauna interiors: Benches that are high enough — and deep enough, heaters that provide endless steam (without zapping you with radiant heat), well-designed foot rests for some seriously cozy toes, ergonomic backrests that allow you to lean back and breathe in the pleasant aroma of real, local cedar. Windows that are the right size… and in the right places. Design, quality, and enjoyment that lasts.

This customer paid $35k for his sauna. Which might sound like a lot, until you realize that includes delivery. And tax. And it comfortably seats 12. And heats up in 45 mins, even in sub-zero temps. And will outlast his kids. Every two weeks I hear from them with another AMAZING sauna update.

We delivered this 8-person wood-fired sauna to an amazing family in Findlay just before Thanksgiving. More photos coming soon!

Some progress pics from the sauna build we’re building in Oxford for the Rye family.

Started with putting in a retaining wall on a steep hillside, leveling the ground, and building a cedar deck on concrete piers. Framed the walls, added cross bracing + house wrap, roof trusses & metal roof + gutters. PVC board and batten siding with battens that we milled in-house to match the house.

Door we custom-built from locally sourced aromatic cedar and is on spring hinges for easy open and close.

I’m laughing at the fact that Emilia’s dress is the same color as the wood!!

When it’s hot like this, all I want to do is get in that cold plunge.

Working outside in winter, knowing that the sauna will be warm is what keeps you going. In the summer, it’s the opposite.

Has anyone made a DIY cold plunge out of a chest freezer? If so, I’d like to hear from you.
