Did you know that where you part your hair matters?

Years ago at Redken Exchange, I learned about the highs and lows of the face-and how part placement can create balance. It’s one of those fundamentals I still use behind the chair.

What are highs and lows?

The high side of your face will often appear more lifted and open. Usually you will have a more open eye, your eyebrow may sit a little higher, your cheekbone may be a little more lifted and your jawline may be a little more snatched. Think your best side when posing for pictures.

Your low side will be the opposite.

So the rule of thumb is, part your hair on the high side with hair falling onto the low side, doing so will create balance, give a subtle lifting effect and prevent the face from looking heavier or pulled downward.
