It depends on the type of pigmentation you have. Epidermal, dermal, mixed, and hormone-related pigmentation all require different approaches — which is why an accurate diagnosis comes first.

For example, with melasma, we may avoid more aggressive treatments like MOXI, CO2 laser resurfacing, or RF microneedling during sunnier months and choose gentler options instead.

Other types of pigmentation may be treated with laser and non-laser procedures now, as long as the skin is properly prepared and sun exposure is avoided.
