Mama Needs Massage

The annual Eco-School Network retreat is one of my highlights of the year! Peaceful vibes in nature, reconnecting with some of my fave people, and learning more - all the time - about how to lean into joy, connection, and bravery to make our world greener, safer, and healthier.

Wanted to share a snap of a head massage class I taught this fall -- my first out-of-state teaching gig -- in Georgia!

I loved sharing techniques and good vibes with more than 60 students over the weekend. And, of course, I ate well 😋😍

Sunshine, colorful, crunchy leaves, cold mornings, and warm afternoons. Is fall really sticking around this time?

You might think that, as a massage therapist, I think about tight shoulders and sore necks all day. You'd be wrong. I think about mental health -- mine, my family's, yours! -- just as much.

Here are a few snaps of my mental health moments recently.
1. Finding sunshiney public art! A bonus from getting out ino nature.
2. These rubbery textured magnetic fidget toys. So awesome to fidget with during a workshop!
3. Group naptime beside the Sandry River. 20+ participants!!
4. Just a snippet of the magic of Tricia Hersey's book We Will Rest 🙏 Thank you for the inspiration. This book feels like magic.

Traveling is wonderful! What a trip! And I'll be resting for the foreseeabe future 😅🥱

This summer I joined a few choir buddies to play Family Feud as a team at BearKat Brewing in Sherwood. It was a blast, and not as easy as it looks!😅

This hit all the boxes: sweet community, yummy food, a little bit of challenge and newness.

In the moments of rainy season, I've been back to this old quilt project. I'm soooo close to completing it, just hand-sewing the binding around the edges!

I love this project because:
1. It reminds me of the quilt retreat with family where I started it
2. I love the happy bursts of color!
3. This hand-sewing step takes very little setup and equipment, so it's living in a basket atm, and every time I have a small chunk of time, I grab a needle and thread and make a little more progress.

Looking forward to cozy naps with this finished project soon!
