It’s been a while… so for those of you who are new here, let me reintroduce myself 💕

I’m Melissa! I’ve been in the hair and makeup industry for 21 years… I know, I know, crazy since I’m only 25 😜 (kidding… I’m nearing the end of my 30s!)

I’m the proud owner of Cut Up & Dye Hair Studio in Hobart, Indiana, where I get to lead an insanely talented team of stylists. This career has truly been a blessing; being able to use my creativity to build a life I love (and spoil my fur babies 🐾) is something I never take for granted.

BUT… if I’m being honest, my other true love is comedy and acting. I live for laughter. I love being silly, making people smile, and just having a good time, which is exactly the energy you’ll feel when you walk into our salon. We don’t just do great hair… we have FUN doing it.

I’ve always had a thing for NYC ✨ I even attended acting school there for a summer in my twenties (dream come true!), and I’ve gone back multiple times for advanced hair color education. Any excuse to visit the city—I’m in! More recently, I’ve been training at The Second City in Chicago, studying improv and acting, and it’s been one of the most fun experiences ever.

Outside of the salon, I’m a dog mom to my two little cuties (who I absolutely treat like children 🐶💕), and I share a fun, chaotic, love-filled life with my amazing fiancé. Family is everything to me; you’ll usually find me out to dinner with them on Tuesday nights, which is one of my favorite traditions.

I’m a total foodie (don’t ask me to cook though 😂), I love a good binge-worthy show or movie, and I will bake a killer dessert when the mood hits. Lately, I’ve been working on a healthier, more active lifestyle and trying to find that balance.

Give me fall, winter, sweater weather, and SNOW all day long ❄️ I’m absolutely an air-conditioning princess in the summer… but I will also happily sunbathe like a cat in a window when the moment is right ☀️
