I have been an herb, vegetable and fruit farmer for over fifteen years. The farm is about an acre and half big but it is mighty. It is a little slice of heaven.

The Naked Botanical sells herbal tea blends, hydrosols, herbal salt blends, elderberry tonic and other herbal products sourced from organically grown herbs from our farm. The Naked Botanical (formerly known as Anna Lee’s Herbs) was started in 2015 since I couldn’t find fresh local dried herbs. The herbs that I was buying just were missing the right color and smell that freshly dried herbs had. I realize that most herbs were being sourced from outside the country which could have been the reason for their pale color. In 2016, I started making herbal tea blends, salts, salves, hydrosols, and flower essences from the farm. I am blessed with over 100+ herb plants, damask roses, fruit trees and several beds of flowers and vegetables. Currently I am selling at local farmer’s markets, craft shows, retail stores, and online. I love the facial expressions people make when they taste my herbal teas for the first time. Or they smell and taste my other products. They smack their lips and always say, “that’s so good.”

It is so good because it is fresh. When you cut herbs to tea bag size, you lose all the aroma of the herbs which in turns affects the tea taste. I only hand cut the herbs to 1/4 inch standards for loose leaf. With loose leaf, you will get a better tasting tea and you can use the herbs many times. However, I do offer pyramid bag tea bags with the same larger cut. I don’t add artificial or natural flavors to the herbs. Most tea companies do even if they are organic. I let my herbs speak for themselves. The herb are naked and just bare awesome. I pack the teas in small batches so the herbs are stored in vacuum sealed bags in a cool location until use. I want you to experience the freshest tea. My salves, flower essences and hydrosols are from ingredients in my farm. I source certified organic Hawaiian beeswax and cocoa butter which makes the salves harden and emolient. On a warm day, I can be found using my cooper distiller to create the most heavenly hydrosols, which is the water part of how they make essential oils. Hydrosols are wonderful for the skin and soul. You haven’t lived until you smelled one of them. Flower essence are non-invasive liquids that help remove emotional blockages. They are quite powerful yet gentle in their strength. Lastly, I create herbal salts from my lovage and anise hyssop and tarragon. They add perkiness to your dish and reduce your salt usage since they add flavor without salt. Taste the freshness and be part of the farm. I hope you decide to try my products. Over 122 Five Star rating on Etsy don’t lie! The herbs at my farm are special and I am the lucky conduit who gets to create products for you from them. Join the family. Get Naked and Be Happy!

Welcome to craft show season. Last one had over 50 food vendors, town businesses and some handmade businesses. Among a sea of pizza, Playa bowl and lobster roll stood the lone farmer slinging tea samples with a big smile to anyone who wanted to escape the food scene. The organic beacon of health and locally grown! 😄😇

As a young girl, I always remember crickets in September. Especially once the air turned colder at night.

Funny — crickets are loudest in the heat of summer. But that's not the memory that stuck. For me, crickets always meant back to school. Meant summer was ending.

Now, a porch drink at the end of the day brings that same feeling back. Just Kick Back and Chill, or Best Damn Mint — either one, kick your shoes off kind of tea.

Not because it's productive. Not because it needs a purpose.

Sometimes a drink, a porch, and the sound of crickets is exactly what you need. Here's sipping with you.

Meet the Herbs: Mint aka Spearmint, Peppermint, Chocolate Mint and the rest of the mints at that farm,

The boss of the garden. Tells the other herbs how high to jump. Bosses around the other mints, too — professional courtesy means nothing to her.

He thinks because he tastes this good, he can get away with murder. And so far, he's not wrong.

Doesn't know the word "no." Takes over any space you give him.

I had to take away his bank account. He was charging the other herbs protection money — from himself.

You'll find him running things quietly in Morning Mojo herbal Tea, right alongside basil and oregano. They let him.

He even plays nice in Best Damn Mint Herbal Tea— though since they are all mints, there can be some family issues in that little can of tea.

He even weaseled himself into Feeling Groovy Herbal Tea but Ginger made friends with Spearmint. Ginger is too popular for Spearmint to fight with.

We're so excited to be at our first Rocktober Fest in Millburn's Taylor Park this Saturday. How did I ever miss this event? We'll be in the shopping area. I checked the map and, honestly, wish I weren't vending—there's so much to do. If you're looking for something special this Saturday, Millburn is the place to be (weather permitting). Fun for all ages. See you there!
