At Hawaii Vein Institute, varicose vein treatments are performed in-office, with minimal downtime for most patients. Your initial evaluation includes a duplex ultrasound scan to document venous insufficiency (abnormal blood flow) and rule out deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Treatment options may include radiofrequency ablation (RFA), Varithena® foam injection therapy, and sclerotherapy, depending on your individual condition and treatment needs.

The older you get, the higher your chances of developing varicose veins. Aging causes wear and tear on the valves in your veins that help regulate blood flow.
