From 1954-1968 the Civil Rights movement sparked change throughout the beauty industry which prompted Avon and Maybelline to start carrying makeup products that were more inclusive.
Fast forward to 1973 and Fashion Fair was created! A brand that catered to women of color.
Then in 1994 supermodel Iman launched her own cosmetics line called IMAN. This year is the brands 25 year anniversary!

Anthony Overton was the first person to recognize a lack of diversity in cosmetics for women of color. In 1898 he opened the Overton Hygienic Manufacturing Co. The first product was a face powder that became a sensation in the United States, Egypt, and Libieria!
Anita Patti Brown was a famous opera singer and she used her fame to start a mail order business in 1920, geared towards women of color. The company sold perfumes, creams, and Patti’s La Traviata face powder.

Insecure, feelings of inadequacy, lack of self love. All of these things can destroy you if you don't address it. I have found that majority of the time instead dealing with your issues, you would rather push your insecurities and feelings off on others. I encourage you to search your heart and work on yourself. Be the best you that you can be. Don't concern your self with others and what they are doing or not doing, how they are doing it, or why they are doing it. Worry about YOU! In addition don't be phony with your intentions and actions. Stop lying to yourself and others. That's all!
