The Alopecia Doctor Hair and Scalp Spa
Effective solutions for scalp disorders and hair loss.
I always laugh when people on the internet try to tell me what needle depth I should be using. 🤭
I was professionally trained to perform microneedling on the face and scalp. I learned needle depths, technique, safety, and how many passes to make. I've also helped thousands of people with hair loss using this exact depth range in my office.
Here's the truth: a 1.5-2.0 mm dermastamp, when used correctly with proper instruction, isn't what causes permanent scarring. Problems are much more likely to happen when someone repeatedly over-treats the same area, uses poor technique, doesn't sanitize their device, or ignores proper aftercare.
Here's my general guide:
• 0.25-0.75 mm: Product absorption.
• 1.0 mm: Moderate scalp stimulation.
• 1.5-2.0 mm: My recommended range for appropriate candidates because it creates deeper, controlled microchannels that support the scalp's natural healing response.
• 2.5-3.0 mm: Typically reserved for thicker body areas, deeper scars, and stretch marks—not routine scalp treatments.
That's why technique and training matter more than the number on the needle.
If you want clinical-grade hair restoration at home, my Hair Loss Recovery Kit includes the dermastamp, step-by-step instructions, and everything you need to use it correctly.

You don't truly know if your hair loss is permanent until you actually see what's happening beneath the surface.
I've had clients convinced their hair would never grow back, only to discover they still had healthy, active follicles. I've also had people who used products for years and finally learned their follicles were completely scarred over. 😔
A trichoscope allows us to see what the naked eye can't: whether we're looking at healthy follicles, dormant follicles, inflammation, or scar tissue.
Before you invest in another hair growth product, make sure your follicles are still viable. The right treatment always starts with the right evaluation.

One thing I've learned from my own hair loss journey, and helping thousands of people, is that hair loss isn't about finding one miracle product. It's about finding a routine that works and staying consistent with it.
What helped me maintain my hair is the same approach I recommend to my clients: an anti-inflammatory routine, internal support, and a complete system that works together to support healthier, fuller hair over time.
Comment "ROUTINE" and I'll send you the exact routine I use to maintain my hair and the same one I recommend to my clients. 👇🏽🩵
129 Hairs Later… Some Amazon Caps Still Just Glow. 👀
Not every red light device delivers the same treatment. Medical-grade HairMax devices are FDA-cleared specifically for hereditary male and female pattern hair loss and use true medical-grade laser diodes... not just red LEDs that make your scalp glow.
HairMax reports an average increase of 129 hairs per square inch after six months of consistent use. But consistency is the part people miss. Getting red light therapy once a week in-office can support your regimen, but using an at-home device three times per week as directed gives your follicles more consistent exposure.
Before buying, check for:
1. FDA clearance specifically for hair growth
2. True laser diodes—not just a high “light count”
3. Published clinical hair-count data
4. A clear wavelength and treatment protocol
Because a red light is easy to manufacture. A clinically tested hair-growth device is different.

Red light therapy works best as part of a complete hair-restoration regimen. Hair Max Laser Band 82
This is a touchy subject for me because I’m already dealing with hair loss, menopause is definitely knocking on my door, AND I’m trying to keep the hair I got; okay?! 😩😂
So trust me, I’m paying attention to every little change, and if you’re noticing more shedding, thinning, less density, or your hair just isn’t doing what it used to do, don’t wait until it gets worse to start addressing it.
The Hair Loss Recovery Kit is where I recommend starting to support your follicles, scalp, and hair growth from the inside and outside.
And fellas, don’t feel left out. 🖤 This one is for you too, especially if you’re dealing with male pattern hair loss.
If your hair is changing, it’s time to start paying attention. Comment “RECOVERY” and I’ll send you the info. 👇🏽
That “let me wait and see” stage is where a lot of people lose valuable time. 👀
Excessive shedding. Thinning. A widening part. A bald spot that wasn’t there before. Those are the signs to act...not ignore.
The earlier you address hair loss, the better opportunity you have to support viable follicles and get ahead of the progression. Waiting until it’s noticeably worse can mean a longer road to improvement.
If you’re ready to stop watching and start addressing it with a clinical-grade hair growth system, comment ACCESS and I’ll send you the details or schedule your evaluation on thealopeciadoctor.com
I hate seeing y'all spend money on products that sound good but don't actually move the needle. 😔
If you're gonna invest in your hair, invest in products that actually make sense.
✨ Swap the hair oil for a peptide-based serum like the Regrowth Booster or Hair Loss Recovery Kit
✨ Swap the derma roller for a derma stamp.
✨ Swap the cheap LED cap for a medical-grade HairMax laser.
✨ Swap the random supplements for one complete nutrient formula, like this available with each clinical grade system on thealopeciadoctor.com
Hair growth is about consistency not buying everything TikTok tells you to.
Comment "STAMP" for the derma stamp I recommend, or comment "ACCESS" to get my complete clinical-grade hair restoration system.

One of the biggest misconceptions about hair restoration is thinking the treatment is what gives you the final result.
It doesn't.
Advanced Hair Restoration Therapy is designed to jumpstart the process. What determines how much thicker, fuller, and healthier your hair becomes is what happens after you leave my office.
The clients who see the best long-term results are the ones who stay consistent with their home regimen. It's where maintenance becomes more progress.
My job is to activate the follicles. Your job is to keep giving them what they need to continue producing stronger, healthier hair.
Hair restoration is about time and consistency.

Cold Plasma Is Waking Dormant Follicles
Cold plasma is one of the most interesting drug-free regrowth tools to come up in the last 2 years, and it's different from microneedling, PRP, or lasers.
Here's the breakdown:
How it actually works
Cold Atmospheric Plasma (CAP) is an ionized gas - room temperature, not hot, feels like a cool breeze. The device generates a mix of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS).
When applied to the scalp for 3-5 minutes per area:
Microcirculation + permeability: It increases blood flow and temporarily opens the skin barrier, so growth factors and topical actives pe*****te better.
Inflammation reset: This is the new angle from 2024/2025 research. CAP appears to expand T-regulatory cells (T-regs) around the follicle. In alopecia, especially alopecia areata and scarring patterns, T-regs are low, which lets inflammatory T-cells attack the bulge. Restoring that balance helps calm the follicle microenvironment.
Anagen shift: ROS in low, controlled doses acts as a signal. It activates Wnt/beta-catenin and FGF pathways in dermal papilla cells, which is the switch that pushes a dormant telogen follicle back into anagen (growth) faster. It also upregulates VEGF, so new capillaries form around the follicle.
In clinic, most protocols are weekly cold plasma instead of weekly microneedling, or plasma followed by a plasma-activated hydrogel / exosome / peptide serum. No numbing, no bleeding, no downtime - which is why clients are more compliant.
What the latest clinical data shows
The bulk of the 2025 data is small but promising:
Korean and Iranian split-scalp RCTs in androgenetic alopecia (40-60 patients) showed CAP 1x/week for 12 weeks increased hair density by ∼14-18% and hair thickness by ∼12-15%. That's in the same ballpark as minoxidil, but with onset a little faster - improvement seen at week 8 vs week 12-16 for minoxidil.
For alopecia areata, a 2024 pilot using plasma-activated hydrogel showed significant reduction in SALT score and an increase in perifollicular T-regs on biopsy. That's where the T-reg expansion data you mentioned comes from.
