Donating blood is one small thing I can do to help hospitalized patients. It is the nature of medical professionals to want to help patients. The COVID-19 crisis has made it difficult for medical professionals to follow our passion for caring for our patients. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a fertility specialist, I must delay doing surgeries in the hospital, such as non-urgent Da Vinci myomectomies and tubal reversal surgeries. Routine hysteroscopy &laparoscopy cases are also delayed. I choose not to call this medical care for my patients as “elective.” Fertility patients are exponentially stressed due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus to their own medical, psychological and financial well-being, the abrupt stop to their fertility testing and treatment, and the uncertain effect of COVID-19 on their potential or current early pregnancy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our practice, the Center of Reproductive Medicine, has made telehealth and social media the new normal. We will continue to strive to find new ways to support our patients, including transitioning patient visits to private telehealth appointments. Please feel free to reach out to us on our IG, FB, Twitter, or LinkedIn accounts. If you’d like to begin, or continue, your fertility journey, schedule a telehealth appointment through our website. We want to hear from you about ways we can continue to support you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Shine a Light on Endo for Endometriosis Awareness Month 03/16/2019

Endometriosis is a chronic disease that contributes to infertility, pain, psychological/emotional stress and marital discord in my patients. I tell them you do not have cancer but you do have endometriosis that will adversely affect your life until you reach menopause.
Many women hide their pain symptoms and are also told it is normal to have severe pain with their periods. If you know someone who suffers from severely painful periods they should be evaluated by an OBGYN. If they have endometriosis and have not had children they should see an REI specialist soon about egg freezing to preserve their reproductive potential. Endometriosis frequently leads to decrease ovarian reserve /rapid ovarian aging. Please support those women in your life who suffer from endometriosis.
