A Houston native and dual-licensed Massage Therapist & Esthetician, Desiree brings more than a decade of experience in wellness and a beautifully well-rounded background in therapeutic massage, luxury spa care, skincare, and body treatments. Her approach is warm, intuitive, and individualized—taking the time to understand what your body needs and creating a treatment around you.

She is also trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, and after getting acquainted with Elevation’s specific protocols, she’ll be joining our MLD team as well. Her professional background has consistently emphasized customized treatments and helping clients address pain and discomfort while supporting their ongoing wellness.

2026 has been… a year. 😂🍂

There have been new chapters, goodbyes, new faces, a whole lot of change I definitely did not request, and plenty of reminders about what makes Elevation so special in the first place.

So instead of our usual “here’s what’s new” post, I wanted to share a little personal update from me about where we’ve been, who’s joining us, and where we’re headed next.

Most importantly, this is a love letter to the clients who have grown right alongside us. Whether you found us this year or have been lying on our massage tables telling us your life story for the last decade — thank you for continuing to choose Elevation. 🤎

I thought I would do something a little different with this email.

Usually, when you hear from us, we're telling you about a new treatment, introducing someone, reminding you to take care of yourself, or shamelessly tempting you into booking a massage (a burden we carry bravely). But after the year we've had, I felt like our longtime clients deserved a little more of a personal update.

First and foremost, thank you.

Some of you have been with Elevation for years. We've watched pregnancies become babies, injuries heal, careers change, families grow, relationships evolve and life happen — and you've watched Elevation grow and change right alongside it. Those relationships mean more to me than I can adequately put into a marketing email.

And speaking of change...

2026 has apparently decided that I needed some practice with it.

For years, I have been incredibly fortunate to have the same familiar faces working alongside me. Our team was remarkably consistent, and many of you developed relationships with your therapists and estheticians that lasted for years.

Then, seemingly all at once, about half of those familiar faces moved into new chapters of their lives.

Motherhood. Moving home. Following a spouse's career. New opportunities. Life doing what life does.

I am genuinely so happy for the people who have moved on to beautiful new chapters.

I would also like it formally documented that I personally did not request this much change. 😂

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a slow-and-steady kind of gal. Give me consistency, familiar faces and a good five-year plan and I'm perfectly content. So having years of stability followed by what felt like a revolving door for a few months was...character building.

And it taught me something important:

You don't replace human beings.

I've caught myself using the word "replacement" many times this year, but the truth is, you cannot replace a person. Every therapist and esthetician brings their own energy, personality, experience and way of caring for people into the treatment room.

So I stopped trying to find the "next version" of someone who left and started focusing instead on finding talented people who could bring something uniquely their own to Elevation — and, just as importantly, people who wanted to put down roots here.

Through all of that change, I have been incredibly grateful for the people who helped keep us anchored.

Kate, Rosy, and Michelle have been three of those steady, familiar faces. They have taken on more, cared for clients who suddenly found themselves without their longtime therapist, helped welcome new team members and continued showing up with the consistency and level of care that Elevation has always been built around.

And, well...you've still got me. For better or worse, you're not getting rid of me that easily. 😉

Our esthetics department has also entered an entirely new era this year.

I'm thrilled to have Juliet as our Lead Esthetician, and we've spent much of 2026 completely reimagining our facial program. We've brought in new professional skincare, new technology and some truly incredible treatments, while becoming much more intentional about offering corrective and results-driven skincare alongside the relaxing experience you've always expected from us.

And now, after a few bumps along the road, I feel incredibly excited about the massage team we're building again.

Blake recently joined us and has already brought such a thoughtful approach to bodywork. His background and interests in myofascial work, chronic pain, migraines, athletic recovery and trauma-informed care fit beautifully with the kind of work we do at Elevation, and I'm really excited for more of you to meet him.

We're also welcoming Desiree, who comes to us from The Post Oak Spa and brings experience as both a massage therapist and esthetician. Finding someone who is talented, versatile and understands the level of service we expect is no small feat, and I think she is going to be another wonderful anchor for our team.

I also want to acknowledge Savannah's departure, because I know many of you had built genuine relationships with her and, for some, that transition happened very suddenly. We know that was frustrating and disappointing for clients whose appointments were affected, and I am enormously grateful for the grace many of you extended to us while we worked to take care of everyone and get our footing underneath us again.

Owning a small business has taught me many things over the years, but 2026 has been a particularly enthusiastic teacher.

It has reminded me that businesses like ours aren't really built on services. They're built on relationships.

You're helping me employ an incredible team. You're helping those people build careers doing work they love. And you're allowing me to continue growing this slightly crazy little idea I started all those years ago: that exceptional bodywork and skincare could exist in a place where people are treated like human beings rather than appointment numbers.

That part has never changed. And it won't.

So after a year that has asked me to become significantly more comfortable with change than I ever volunteered for, I can finally say that I feel really good about where we're headed.

There are new faces to meet, familiar ones still here, new treatments to try, and plenty more happening behind the scenes that I can't wait to share with you.

But mostly, heading into fall, I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for sticking with us through transitions.

Thank you for welcoming new members of our team.

Thank you for trusting us with your bodies, your skin, your stress, your stories and sometimes a surprisingly detailed account of everything currently happening in your life. (Don't worry. What happens in the treatment room stays in the treatment room. HIPPA BABY😂)

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives — and for being such an enormous part of ours.

Here's to a beautiful fall, a little more stability, and perhaps a slightly less "interesting" remainder of 2026.

When we bring a new practitioner into Elevation, we’re looking for more than technical skill. Great bodywork matters, of course, but so does presence. We look for therapists who listen well, work with intention, understand that no two bodies are the same, and genuinely care about the experience they create for the person on their table.

Blake checked all of those boxes.

His work lives in one of our favorite sweet spots: deeply relaxing while still being genuinely therapeutic. Blake blends Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, and myofascial release into sessions that address tension and restriction without losing flow or leaving your nervous system wondering what just happened.

His approach is thoughtful, unhurried, and collaborative. He especially enjoys working with chronic tension, migraines, head and neck discomfort, athletic recovery, pregnancy, neurodivergent clients, and those carrying the physical effects of prolonged stress.

Bodywork + the nervous system

What makes Blake particularly unique is the perspective he brings beyond massage therapy.

Blake holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Michigan-Flint and is currently pursuing his Master of Social Work through the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. With a strong interest in neuroscience and the nervous system, he brings a trauma-informed lens to bodywork and understands just how interconnected our physical and emotional experiences can be.

For Blake, effective massage isn't something that simply happens to you. It's collaborative care built around communication, trust, and listening to what your body needs that day. And that philosophy feels very much at home at Elevation.

A space where everyone can exhale

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Blake is also passionate about creating an inclusive, affirming treatment space where clients of every identity and background can feel comfortable, respected, and completely at ease.

Outside the treatment room, Blake recently celebrated something pretty wonderful of his own: he and his partner got engaged! We couldn't resist sharing a little congratulations as he begins two exciting new chapters at once.

Trying too many products at once. More isn't always better. A simple, consistent routine almost always outperforms an overcomplicated one.
