SITUATION: You see six hair color clients in a day... I'd estimate that only one or two of them require chelation or an "unicolor" service prior to your starting their. hair color application. And, on a good day, no one will need this extra service. Perform it ONLY WHEN YOU NEED TO!

YOU ARE THE EXPERT: When hair is FILTHY, COATED with "too much goo" or seems too "built up" with color, with too much depth or looks like something is "OFF". Go ahead and clarify prior to coloring. However, as you understand, not every single client comes to your chair with this type of "situation". Let's be careful and completely professional.. without making life any more difficult than

Ok. Let’s look again at important salon words, …. Possessive, singular and plural. Believe it or not, even magazine writers forget to add that ‘s’ at the end when needed!

The word is ‘hairdresser’

One hairdresser is coming to the class. ( singular)
Three hairdressers are coming to the class. ( Plural).

Our Hairdresser’s makeup kit is on her station. ( One hairdresser, singular)

Our hairdressers’ tools are on their stations. (More than one hairdresser. Plural.

One stylist
Two stylists. (Don’t say. ‘Two stylist’ . You are leaving out the ‘s’.

One stylist’s hair brush (we need the ‘s’. The ‘S’ is missing almost all the time. This is incorrect. Singular possessive)

Six stylists’ brushes ( Hairbrushes belonging to six stylists, — more than one stylist—. the ‘S’ is missing almost all the time. Plural possessive).

If we are not clear when we write about what we do, others might make the same mistake. This is no big deal, but I think it matters! B

Hmmm: I’m not an expert, but I think being paid $$ if you vote as someone directs you to, and if your vote added to the votes of millions of other citizens, creates the ‘to be the financially awarded ’ result, this
might not be legal. ????

And would identifying your vote, your name, not eliminate the privacy guaranteed to voters in an American election? Freedom to vote for a person we each trust and believe in, seems to be one of the powers of being an American.

9/10/01. I was teaching on that sunny, lovely day in NYC. The following morning, , our world was hideously attacked. The World Trade Center disappeared. Tomorrow, I will watch our nation remember, with sympathy and respect, the memorial ceremony in NYC, where thousands, along with Presidents Obama, Clinton, Bush and Biden, will share prayers of remembrance and hope.
