A lot has changed since I closed Poppy in January of 2024. Shortly after closing, my life was completely altered, and my heart terribly shattered, by the death of my husband. Instead of following the dreams of having children, as I had discussed with each of you, I was busy planning a cremation, a memorial, and figuring out life without my partner in crime.
So far I have colored my hair, changed my style, got a new dog, watched my other dog become crippled, lost one of my cats as well as my turtle (because my husband clearly couldn’t live without them 😅), gained two new cats because my other cat ran away for a little bit, and have gone to lots and lots of therapy 🙃
Along the way I have also discovered how incredibly strong and capable I truly am 💪🏼 I have been hard at work, crafting a new chapter in my life and my career, for almost a year now, and I am finally in a healthy spot to invite you all along!
For the past year I have worked full time in Zionsville. And for 8 months of that year, I have been working toward a management position leading a wonderful team of stylists toward achieving their goals and aspirations in this beautiful industry! There’s a lot to update y’all on! ✨
First of all, there are so many new faces here that I felt the need to introduce myself. Hi, I’m Carnacion, I’m the stylist behind this account 👋🏼💖
Secondly, if you weren’t aware or if you are new, we are unfortunately closing the studio. We have an official closing date and some important dates leading up to it.
We are closing on Monday, January 29, 2024. Because this date is set outside of regular scheduled business hours, the final day to receive services will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 with Friday, January 26 being the last day to schedule. All offers regarding services are still valid until final day to receive services. If you are scheduled within these dates, your current scheduled session still remains and Cancellation Policies are still in effect.
The final date to purchase retail is Wednesday, January 31, 2024. After this date we are no longer able to accept monetary payments for products, no exceptions.
If you wish to purchase retail past the final service date we will have access to the studio until Sunday, February 04, 2024. Please reach out via DM to schedule a purchase pickup time between Tuesday - Wednesday January 30th - 31st.
Used products, backbar treatments, and chemicals are not for sale due to legal and safety reasons. All remaining unopened and/or unclaimed retail will be donated to Coburn Place. All decor items and service tools are not for sale unless specified by me in person or via “Story.”
As for where I will be going and/or how to schedule with me, I am currently taking a hiatus from doing hair until further notice. I did not expect ending this chapter to cause such a decline in my mental health. I do hope to reopen Poppy at a later date and wish to see you all when that day comes. If you wish to keep receiving services from me should I reopen or should I work somewhere else in the future please DM me with an email address so I can add you to an information waitlist otherwise a list of providers is available upon request with no animosity for the request 💖

Times are rough, but your hair doesn't have to be! We took a good hard look at the economy and decided that if we're struggling, you're struggling harder!
Treat yourself for the holidays and schedule any service in any price range, let us know your budget at consultation, receive the full service and experience at that budgeted price - no questions asked!

It breaks my heart entirely to say these words, but my husband and I are deciding that it might be in our best interests to close Poppy Hair Studio. 😞
Nothing has been arranged, yet, it is simply a current topic of discussion, and action will be taken in the coming weeks to figure out a game plan to end this chapter properly. I hesitate to move too quickly as a part of me holds out hope for things to magically improve.
The economy has taken a big toll on small businesses this year, and it has honestly been extremely difficult as a one woman show to financially withstand. In a season that is usually busy beyond belief I have seen more no shows and cancellations than I have ever seen in my 5 years in this industry, and my fur/scaly babies, my house, and I rely pretty heavily on my husband’s income at home and cannot expect him to also carry the financial weight it takes to run a business during a time of very little activity.
I have fought very hard these past couple of months to put on a brave face and fake a smile, hanging onto hope that Poppy and I could survive this small bump in the road, but I believe every good thing must eventually come to an end. In Carnacion fashion, I have cried, I have screamed, I have cursed, and most of all I have mourned the expectant loss of something I cherish oh so deeply. Poppy was and is my hope and dream. And I do hope to be able to revive her once again when the world is moving like it used to and dreams can thrive again.
To all my guests who are currently scheduled until December 29th, your session date and time still remain, and I look forward to having you. To guests I haven’t seen in a while, thank you for your continued support. Books are still open through December 29th or until further notice. All products still on the shelf are currently 50% off while supplies last.
