I’m so excited to officially introduce you all to my newest apprentice, Sailor. 🤍
Sailor recently graduated cosmetology school and has officially begun her apprenticeship with me. From day one, she’s brought such a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine passion for helping people feel confident through healthy hair. I already know she’s going to do amazing things in this industry.
One thing people don’t always realize is that behind every busy stylist is an incredible apprentice. They keep our days running smoothly, support our clients, and are learning every step of the way. The truth is... I couldn’t do what I do without them.
As much as I love creating beautiful hair, one of the most fulfilling parts of my career has become teaching. Passing on knowledge, building confidence, and helping the next generation of stylists find their own path is something I don’t take lightly. Our industry only gets stronger when we invest in the people coming up behind us.
I’m so excited to be part of Sailor’s journey and can’t wait for you all to watch her grow over the coming months. Welcome to the team, Sailor Garcia | Bay Area Hair Stylist. So happy you’re here. 🤍
& don’t you worry 😉 Jessie Lopez is working alongside Sailor and I for a few more weeks! We’ll see you at
Slide 4 hit me. 🥹
If you’ve sat in my chair, you know these moments you share with me are ones I never take for granted. As a stylist, we hear it all literally. And as the receiver, it’s one of my favorite things about this industry.
I’ve seen those trending videos filter through my algorithm the silly ones. One that stuck with me: “If I end up in jail, call my regulars, they’ll bail me out.” 😂 It’s true you guys are the heartbeat of the salon.
And 12 months coming up on of being open for 1 year, this hits harder than ever. Why? Because so many new faces have become regulars (all my stylist guest). Hearing the laughs, seeing the tears, holding space for the big moments. It’s such a magical place to be within the walls of a salon. Thank you to all my guest for trusting me, share with me all your stories and to all of our MUSE guest thank you, you’re appreciated more than you know 🙌🏼
Pinching myself at how grateful I am!

Protect your skin AND your extensions this summer!
Not all sunscreens are created equal especially when it comes to your hair extensions. The wrong sunblock can turn your extensions a peachy or pink color that is incredibly difficult (and sometimes impossible) to remove. 😵💫
That’s why we’ve done the research for you. 👆 The top row shows extension-safe sunscreens oxybenzone (benzo) free and approved for use with extensions. The bottom row? Those are the ones to avoid.
The good news? We now carry BASK Sunscreen at MUSE, and it’s extension safe!
Here’s why we love it:
• Lightweight & non-greasy, feels more like skincare than sunscreen, with a sheer, fast-absorbing finish and zero white cast.
• Free of oxybenzone, octinoxate, parabens & sulfates, clean ingredients that won’t wreak havoc on your extensions OR your skin.
• Deeply hydrating enriched with aloe, Vitamin E, and cocoa butter so your skin stays nourished all summer long.
• Reef-friendly & dermatologist recommended good for you, good for the planet
Thank you Jessie Lopez for making this 🤍🤍
POV of having an apprentice!!
But on a real note… having one I’m reminded every single day
WHY I do what I do.
Mentorship is not a trend. It is a RESPONSIBILITY.
The hairstyling industry is full of talent but talent alone doesn’t build a career. What builds a career is knowledge, professionalism, and the right person investing in you at the right time.
I make it my mission to teach my apprentice daily
• How to consult, connect, and retain clients
• How to manage/maximize their time
• How to handle conflict behind the chair
• How to provide a service that reflects their pricing
• How to market their self and build their own brand
• The standards that separate good stylists from GREAT ones
Because I don’t just want my apprentice to do hair. I want them to LOVE this industry for the long haul, the way I do.
The best thing we can do for our craft is protect it and that starts with how we raise the next generation of artists. You can find this kind of mentorship within the walls at MUSE because we care 🤍

French Blending 💁🏼♀️
Ok but really… I’ve now been in the industry long enough to see techniques get a trendy new name that have actually been around much longer. Or maybe it always had this name and I just didn’t know! 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve always loved to approach grey blending very conservatively. Why? I think it’s more youthful to find a way to diffuse your sparkles rather than adding an inky, opaque color. Now, this doesn’t mean there isn’t a time and place for more opaque coverage there absolutely is. But a softer approach tends to be the best fit for my clients who are new to experiencing grey and want a soft, seamless grow-out without the heavy commitment of an every 4–6 week base color touch up.
How I approach this with a Demi color, always! Demi does not contain ammonia, which means it won’t expose underlying warmth (and yes, everyone has warmth in their hair). Demi also lifts easily out of the hair, allowing for a gentle approach to highlighting without fighting the color molecules deposited in the cortex. Permanent color penetrates the hair at a deeper level, making it much harder to lift when it’s time to lighten.
I then love to add baby fine highlights to camouflage the sparkles and soften their appearance. Popping in a lowlights depending on the guest’s amount of grey and natural color creates an effortless, blended look.
All of this reads as very natural and timeless. You’re enhancing your hair while protecting its integrity and your long term goals. Because healthy hair is always beautiful hair. 😘
Ok, that’s all thanks for the read!
