If your extensions are constantly tangling, it might not be your hair—it might be your brush. I see so many people using the wrong brush or brushing way too aggressively.

When you brush extensions, hold the top of your row, start at the ends, and work your way up. And please make sure you’re using an extension-safe brush.

A few minutes of proper brushing every day can help prevent matting, shedding, and damage.

Before I take a client longer, I’m looking at:
• the strength of your natural hair
• if your current density can support the added length
• your lifestyle and styling routine
• how often you’re realistically willing to maintain it

The truth is, longer isn’t always better if your natural hair isn’t ready for it.

Last-minute extension requests happen all the time, but installs are not something I rush just to squeeze someone in.

When I get a same-day or last-minute request, I’m checking:
• Do I have enough time to properly prep the hair?
• Do I already know this client’s hair/history?
• Can I give this appointment the same quality and attention I’d give any other install?

If the answer is yes and I can make it work without compromising my work or my other clients, I’ll absolutely try to accommodate it.

But if I can’t do it correctly, I’ll always be honest about that too.

Protecting the quality of my work will always matter more than overbooking my schedule 🤍

When a client tells me they’ve had a bad extension experience before, my first goal isn’t selling them on extensions again.

It’s listening.

I want to know what happened, assess the health of their natural hair, and be honest about what their hair actually needs moving forward.

A lot of bad experiences come from rushed consultations, poor placement, or methods that weren’t right for the client’s hair or lifestyle.
