As we close out Black History Month, we’re honoring a few of the innovators who forever changed the beauty industry. Their creativity, resilience, and brilliance laid the foundation for so many of the techniques and services we celebrate in salons today.

✨ Madam C. J. Walker – Often recognized as America’s first self-made female millionaire, she created the Walker System of hair care to promote healthy hair and scalp care.

✨ Marjorie Joyner – The inventor of the Permanent Waving Machine in 1928, revolutionizing hair-curling and styling in salons around the world.

✨ Christina Jenkins – The creator and patent holder of the sew-in hair weaving technique in 1951, a method that helped shape the modern hair extension industry.
