It’s been 84 years….

Just kitten! It’s only been like 6 months, but quite literally, be still my heart 😍

I had an out grown balayage on my hands that needed some serious attention. I did heavier weaving and foiling on the bottom quadrant and followed suit the rest of the quadrants with just babylights.

She ended up getting what I refer to as “The works” or “The Triple Threat” which consists of a Full Highlight/Balayage, Olaplex added to Color Service (professional line only) and a haircut. I took 2 inches off for reference.

So many clients are against Olaplex because “they have the shampoo at home” or “don’t want to pay extra.”
I fully understand having a budget, however, Olaplex makes your hair insanely healthier and more manageable. Plus, the Olaplex I use is not something you can use at home. It’s professional only and it’s a concentrated solution. Hair even rinses smoother and tangles way less.

After taking a year off from our Assistant Program to do some reevaluating and restructuring, I’m happy to be back in the saddle. Everyone, please meet Katelyn!

✨ Meet Katelyn! ✨

We have a new face around the salon! Katelyn joined me last week as my new assistant, and I’m so excited to have her!

She has a huge passion for hair and beauty and is eager to learn ALL the things—and you know I’m more than happy to teach her.

A little about Katelyn: she loves music, animals, and has quite the crew at home—a dog, a snake AND chickens. Her favorite color is green, fall is her favorite season, she’s a 2026 graduate of Grass Lake High School and completed the Cosmetology Program at the Career Center.

So if you see her helping me, Emma and Syd around the salon, make sure you say hi and give her a warm welcome! I’m excited to watch her learn, grow, and find her place in this industry.

She will start to take clients in roughly 3 months and I’ll let you all know when her books open.

It’s been roughly 10 weeks since her last appointment and this time I incorporated a few baby lowlights. All my lightening services include a toner and I customize every client. She’s lighter, brighter and ready for Fall!

First time client came in wanting a “retouch.” I ended up doing All Over Color. Something I always go by is leaving it better than you found it and I apply this to all of the guests who sit in my chair.

I know this isn’t hair related, however this is still beauty inspired. I felt inclined to share my experience using the Clean Skin Club Clean Towels and Clean2 Face pads.

How do you use them?
I use the towels and the pads the same way. I double cleanse my face every night, and the second cleanse I wet one of these and apply my face wash to it and gently cleanse in a circular motion.
After using these (I bought them because of an addition sale on a whim) I noticed quite a change in my skin clarity and texture. My skin is brighter, smoother and so much more clear around hormonal breakout time.

Who are they for?
Anyone who wants to improve the clarity and texture of their skin. Teens through seniors. They have Blemish Control, Regular and Sensitive skin options.

Both the towels and the pads are dermatologist approved, have dual sides for extra exfoliation, no shedding and don’t fall apart.
A box of 60 pads cost $7.99.

I’ll be honest, when these hit ours shelves I wasn’t sold. I’m glad I tried them!

At this point I’m basically a full-service wedding package.

From consistent black box color to *almost there* natural color. We’ve got another round of services to do because my eyes can pick out the imperfections. Busting through a tough band of color is not for the weak 😂 And it’s definitely allowing me to flex my chemistry muscles a bit
We’re not there yet, but we’re well on our way. Gray blending takes time, patience and a whole lotta grace ✨

I didn’t get a before picture because I was yappin’ 🤭

What I did at this appointment:

1.) Removed tape in extensions, shampoo and conditioned them-blew them dry and retaped.

2.) Did a total scalp bleach and tone with Olaplex.

3.) Blew her natural hair out and installed the fresh hairs ☺️ We’re thinking maybe Micro K-tips for the next set of extensions!

Golly, I love hair day even if it’s not mine.
