My beautiful client first sat in my chair in 2024 with one goal in mind: to grow her hair down her back. Today, we’re well on our way and the best part isn’t just the length, it’s the health of her hair.
Hair growth is important, but healthy hair is what allows you to retain that growth. Because her damage was throughout the hair, we chose not to do one drastic chop. Instead, we created a customized healthy hair plan, trimming away the damage little by little while preserving as much length as possible.
Outside of the salon, she committed to the process by improving her diet, increasing her water intake, and following her at-home routine. Inside the salon, I cared for her hair weekly in the beginning, then gradually transitioned her to appointments every two weeks as her hair became healthier and stronger.
Now? Her hair is trained.
Her daily routine is simple: wrap it at night, comb it out in the morning, lightly mist when needed, and occasionally use a blow dryer after workouts. She’s a silk press girly by choice, so maintaining her hair has become effortless.
Not everyone chooses to wear silk presses, and that’s perfectly okay. Many of my healthy hair clients prefer flat twists and other natural protective styles and their hair is thriving too. Healthy hair isn’t about one specific style; it’s about having the right care plan for your lifestyle.

Full circle moment, if you would’ve told 6 year old me that 1. I would be a licensed cosmetologist and 2. That I’ll one day service my first grades teacher’s daughter hair, I’d laugh 😂 I wanted to be a teacher at that time.
It was a complete honor because not only that her late husband Troy Coston was also one of my big brothers since birth! So this service was very special and exciting for me!
To see baby girls smile plus my teachers reaction to her hair was completely everything! From seeing her and Troy carry her around as she was super little with a pacifier to be able to style her hair for her senior prom was everything! ✨✨💜
