The Honey Collective + The Clove Hitch Beer Company are kicking off the third annual Oktoberfest with Chalk the Block, celebrating Downtown Jacksonville’s first Social District launch.

Friday, September 25 | 4–9 PM

25 numbered sidewalk squares will be available for the community to transform into temporary works of art throughout downtown. Before the event, you will receive your square number with detailed instructions. Then, creative freedom is yours!

Squares are *$10 each* and include a small supply goody bag with basic chalk supplies. You’re also welcome to bring your own approved supplies.

Participants can work on their square throughout Friday evening and return Saturday morning for any finishing touches. All artwork should be complete by the start of Oktoberfest at 12 PM on Saturday, September 26.

Create whatever feels like you—optical illusions, portraits, florals, landscapes, typography, inspirational quotes, patterns, local landmarks, Oktoberfest-inspired artwork, abstract designs, interactive photo spots or something completely original. Hosts’ favorite wins a prize!

Approved Supplies:
* Sidewalk chalk
* Washable chalk
* Chalk pastels
* Water for blending
* Painter’s tape for temporary guidelines
* Stencils

Please Do Not Use:
* Paint of any kind
* Oil pastels or oil-based products
* Permanent markers
* Spray paint or spray chalk
* Adhesives or glue
* Glitter
* Wax crayons
* Any product that may permanently stain, mark or damage the sidewalk

You will be responsible for removing any permanent damage, or paying to do so, if you use any of these unapproved supplies. The city is trusting us to create responsibly! Let’s respect them, and local businesses by making sure we are doing our part.

This is a family-friendly community event. Artwork must be appropriate for all ages.

We heard it was Doggy Day 🤎🐾

If you’ve been around for a while, you may know, but we lost our 9 year old German Shepherd last year to a degenerative nerve disease that left her paralyzed. She was the best girl and we still miss her everyday.

If you’re grieving a lost pup or nearing the end, we share that burden with you.

On the other hand, meet Buck. Short for Buck Wilde… 😅 Our 3 year old Labrador Retriever. He’s actually part fish & can be found in any nearby body of water if left unsupervised. He’s a ham, a sweet man, and loves all the lovins.

If you have a sweet baby who is also a neighborhood menace, we also share that burden with you. 😂
