That old instrument in the closet might have more life left in it than you think.
Many older woodwind and brass instruments don't need to be replaced. They simply need a little attention. A professional cleaning, new pads, adjustments, or a few repairs can often restore an instrument to playing condition.

Whether it's your first band instrument or one that's been in the family for years, it's worth bringing by for a look.

Sometimes a little restoration is all it takes to make music again.

Bring your instrument into the shop for a review and an estimate, let's talk about bringing it back to life.

Let's talk band traditions or superstitions.
Every band has them.
Lucky reeds.
Pre-performance rituals
Lucky mouthpieces.

Did/Does your band have any traditions?

Did you know?
One tiny leak can make a huge difference.
A pad leak the size of a pinhead can affect tuning, response, and tone quality.

That's why repairs often involve much more than what you can see. Things like this are also why we ask you to bring your instrument into the shop for a review so that we can truly see the big picture, the entire problem and quote you cost and time frame accordingly.

In my years of experience, I know one thing for certain: summer has a way of flying by fast.

Before long, band camps, rehearsals, and the first day of school will be here.

Now is a great time to:
✔ Check for sticky keys
✔ Test valves and slides
✔ Replace worn reeds
✔ Make sure everything is playing the way it should

A little preparation now can help avoid a last-minute rush later.

When do you think most people realize they should have brought their instrument into the shop sooner?

Band Parent Survival Guide

Don't wait until the week before band camp starts or school begins
🔹To get the instrument cleaned.
🔹To get the instrument repaired if needed.

Here at Musicraft we work on a first come, first serve basis. I'm sure many of you can imagine what it looks like in the shop when everyone realizes at the end of summer that the instruments need some love.

Hot Cars
Humidity
Dirt
Food
Being dropped

Not being brought in routinely for a cleaning.

Who am I?
"I have reeds, lots of keys, and I'm made of wood... even though most people think I'm metal."
