Some of my clients jokingly call me a sadist because they swear I enjoy my work a little too much. 😂 The moment that scraper comes out, they know it’s game over, I’m about to get to work.

The truth? I don’t enjoy causing discomfort. I enjoy helping people get results.

Sports massage and soft tissue mobilization can feel intense while we’re working through stubborn trigger points, scar tissue, and restricted fascia. But when it’s done with purpose, that temporary discomfort can lead to better mobility, less pain, and faster recovery.

Your body deserves more than a “feel good” massage—it deserves intentional bodywork that creates lasting change.

Episode 1: The Origin Story 🎬

It all started with one simple request…

“Muffin, massage my feet.” 👣

As a kid, I would massage my mom’s feet all the time, never thinking much of it. Looking back now, I realize those moments were planting seeds long before I knew they existed.

Fast forward several years…

During my second massage ever, I remember telling my therapist, “I can see everything you’re doing in my head.” Every movement just made sense to me.

He looked at me and asked,
“Really? Not most people can do that, have you ever thought about being a massage therapist?”

My answer was simple:
“No.”

He gave me the information for massage school, and just three days later, I was enrolled.

People have always told me, “The gift is in your hands.” I just never imagined it would reveal itself this way.

Looking back, I don’t think it was a coincidence at all.

It was the beginning of what would eventually become Illuminated Bodywork. ✨
