Extension Specialist, Please Help!
Hi all — I’m suing a salon over K-tip extensions that caused damage to my natural hair, and I’d love honest opinions from other professionals.
I have fine, low-density hair and was very clear I didn’t want anything too heavy or bulky. The stylist (who I later found out is an apprentice) and the salon owner suggested K-tips as the best option for the look I wanted.
The install was: • Too heavy for my density • Poorly sectioned • Bonds were large, too close together, and even fused in spots • Caused pain and tension immediately • I removed them after 2 weeks
I reached out to the salon a week after asking if sharp/ hairs being plucked out was normal (they mentioned I’d be sore for a few days, like as if I wore a tight pony for too long- and I was, but that subsided) They immediately got defensive and blamed my sensitive scalp and only offered to cut them shorter to take weight off. Never to come in to assess instal or anything. I am a non confrontational person, especially IRL so I was incredibly uncomfortable going back into that salon. I tried mediation, they wouldn’t budge on any kind of refund. I paid 3000dollar not including tip and I wore them 10 days. I think I am going to have to pursue legal action ):
💬 My questions: 1. Would K-tips ever be appropriate for someone with fine, thin hair? 2. Does this sound like negligence or just bad technique? They said this is technique called Flat box bonds and it’s really only used in NY and large cities .. I’ll attach photos and the last one will be a photo of how they advertise the extensions

Please help me fix this
I just had these highlights done today with my stylist I’ve been seeing for a while. I ended up waaay too blonde and I’m not really feeling these chunks at my hairline. Ordinarily I ask to leave my hairline out of the highlights since I have to wear my hair pulled back at work. I must have forgot to remind her.
Not sure what happened today but I’m normally quite pleased with the results.
Here’s the issue- my stylist is going out of town tomorrow. And I leave town before she comes back. I’m attending an out of town engagement party.
I’m hoping to try fixing this myself- I have access to professional products.
For some background. I stopped doing all over color a few years ago. But I’m not ready to go full grey. In the past few years we’ve just been doing some highlights and lowlights to blend / camouflage. Usually toner is not needed.
Can I tone this without it putting me back at square 1, like when I was doing all over color ? Or will the toner only grab the bleached hair ?
I’ve considered doing a few foil lowlights at the hairline to at least break that up and just kind of living with the rest of the too blonde situation
Advice appreciated please🙏🙏🙏

Are my sew ins done correctly?????
I got sew ins for the first time yesterday, 100g 22 inch, though we didn’t use all the hair, some were left over.
It felt like it was tugging a little yesterday, but the pain is gone today. But I’m still worried about the way it looks compared to online. Does this look safe or is it likely to cause damage like traction alopecia? I’m super worried because I got extensions due to bleach damage so I’ve already lost so much hair and don’t want to lost anymore
Photos 1 and 2 are the bottom row, photo 3 is the middle row, and photo 4 is the very top row which for some reason is sewn in basically on top of the middle row.

How bad is it? Advice please.
I don’t color my hair often, so I definitely don’t know what to ask for. The last time this stylist colored my hair a year ago, she ended up putting baby highlights up to my roots to hide grey hairs. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted, so this time I came with a picture (see third pic) and asked for more of a natural sunkissed look with lighter ends that blend up to my darker roots. I had heard about a root melt or smudge root so asked her about that. She said it wouldn’t work to hide my grays because they would grow in really obviously. I said okay I don’t really mind my grays maybe we can leave my roots natural and just lighten the ends like the example picture. She was really adamant about doing these baby highlights but said they would be super subtle and she would tone the roots darker to give the effect of the picture I showed her. I said okay because I trusted she knew better than me.
My hair looks nothing like the picture I showed her, and I’m feeling really embarrassed. Did I not ask for the right thing? Should she have listened? Does it look terrible? I don’t like the look of stripey highlights at my roots and I feel that’s exactly what I have now. Feeling really sad

Could I ask for a partial refund?
Hi all! So I went to a new stylist and asked for a full head highlight 4 days ago. I’ve been getting highlights for several years, and I’ve never had such a heavy demarcation line RIGHT after getting my hair done.. usually they’re more blended. Could I ask for a partial refund? I don’t really trust the stylist to fix it.

Balayage gone wrong
I thought the whole point of a balayage was that it was a natural way to incorporate colour into your hair. Why does mine look like this? And how do I tell my hairdresser to fix it?? Any advise would be so appreciated. I feel like the balayage is too close to my roots, it’s a bit yellow/orange and looks really unnatural and not blended well

I got a big chop and I'm feeling regretful
My hair cut didn't exactly go to plan, I've ended up having about 11inches off. I said to the stylist to start with the middle of my back when really I meant to say lower back. And in hindsight I shouldve just done an inch or 2 at a time, but it was already cut before I knew it. I'm feeling a bit of regret right now. I will say it doesnt look as dry as I have bleached it a couple of times and have dyed it for a few years. I will get used to it and I know it'll grow back healthier but I'm having a lot of mixed emotions about it. I know for some people my hair is still long but I feel I've lost a part of my identity. I'd never tried anything different before and I kept saying I wanted a change so it is what it is. If anyone has any advice to keep it healthy and help with the regrowth, and how to adapt to shorter hair id appreciate it! Hopefully in a few days I'll get used to it and be able to enjoy it being lighter and more manageable
