greek
language is not easy 😩

A blessed side quest in the most unexpected place. Looking back on everything that’s happened since arriving in Japan, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful. God has blessed this journey with so many unexpected experiences, incredible friendships and moments I never could’ve predicted, especially this one. This is Father Filanthidis, an Orthodox monk originally from Romania, who has spent many years on Mount Athos. He had only been in Japan for three days when we met. We had a simple yet memorable interaction. Whenever I get the chance to speak Greek, I always try to make the most of it. My Greek is proper fried, especially now living in Japan, but it’s always a good opportunity to practice and reconnect with that part of myself. I’m just relieved that Father at least understood what I was saying 😭 This was also the hardest reel I’ve ever had to edit because I had to translate everything manually line by line, but it was obviously worth it 😅 Meeting Father felt like a nice reminder of my faith in the middle of all the excitement and chaos that is making content and living in a foreign country. Despite how difficult things may get, everything will come together through God’s providence, just as it always has. Very grateful for this experience and the brotherhood I’ve found here in Tokyo. Let’s see what else is in store for us. Glory to God for all things ☦️💙 We keep moving. #orthodox #tokyo #shibuya #orthodoxchristian #traveler 10/16/2026
