SPREADING HOPE GIVING DRIVEš¤š»
Itās officially time to kick off this yearās Spreading Hope Giving Drive! Iām so excited to be able to continue growing this organization and giving back to those affected by cancerš¤
This year, all donations will be going to Stewartās Caring Place, a cancer wellness center that provides support and resources to individuals and families navigating cancer.
Here are the details:
š» October 1st - November 1st
š» Items being collected:
* Head scarves, hats, bandanas & caps
* Earrings & wig brushes
* Self-care items
* Household & office supplies
* Non-perishable food items
* And more! (Full list included in the pamphlet)

A little background for those who may not know, Spreading Hope was started in honor of my grandma, who passed away from cancer. Being able to turn something so personal into an opportunity to help others is what makes this so meaningful to me.
Whether youāre able to donate one item or several, every bit helps! And if donating isnāt an option, sharing this post is another wonderful way to helpš¤

This result is after ONE session of her color correction! š¤āØ
Our #1 goal throughout this appointment was to maintain the integrity and health of her hair, especially because she came in with previously damaged hair. Our second goal was to begin blending the banding left behind from permanent color months ago.
Color corrections take time, patience, and a LOT of detail. There is only so much you can safely push the hair in one session, especially when protecting the integrity of the hair is the priority.
For this being our first session correcting someone elseās previous work, I couldnāt be happier with the progress and final result! We still have some blending to do with the remaining banding, but Iām so excited about where we are already. š¤
One of the biggest things I always emphasize with color corrections is communication and honesty from both the stylist AND the client. Going over your complete hair history is SO important because it allows your stylist to understand what has been done to your hair and helps us properly navigate the correction.
Your stylist isnāt working against you, youāre working together as a team toward the healthiest and most beautiful result possible. š«¶š¼
So, a little reminder: always be honest about your hair history, trust the process, and remember that color corrections are a journey!

One year ago today, I took a leap of faith and created Barnwood Hair Co. š¤
What started as a dream quickly became the best decision Iāve ever made! This past year has been filled with growth, challenges, and so many unforgettable moments, but more than anything, itās been incredibly rewarding.
