What people often call a chemical burn is usually caused by adhesive fumes entering the eye, not the lash extensions themselves.

This can happen if your eyes aren’t fully closed during your appointment. Even small movements can create tiny openings that allow fumes to reach the surface of the eye.

Talking, laughing, or even chewing gum can cause subtle facial and eyelid movements that make it harder to keep your eyes completely closed.

One important thing to know: you may not feel any discomfort during your appointment and still experience irritation afterward. Exposure to adhesive fumes can sometimes take time for symptoms to appear, which is why proper eye closure throughout the entire service is so important.

To help keep your eyes comfortable during your appointment:

✨ Avoid talking as much as possible.
✨ Skip the gum; chewing can cause small facial and eyelid movements.
