Vitiligo camouflage⁣

This photo is the before and right after the first session. As we move through more sessions, we slowly build up the color and saturation, adjusting the ink formula each time to get the best possible blend with his surrounding skin tone.⁣
⁣
Generally, the higher the contrast between the vitiligo and the surrounding skin, the more sessions it takes, usually anywhere from 2 to 5 depending on the area and how the skin responds. Rich, deep skin tones can create more contrast against depigmented patches, which is exactly the case here. Stay tuned for updates as we continue this journey.⁣

A few important things before booking: vitiligo needs to be inactive and stable, meaning no spreading for at least 3 years. Tattooing over vitiligo always carries some risk of triggering new depigmentation (a response called koebnerization) and lower pigment retention, regardless of how stable it’s been. I always make sure my clients are fully informed of this before we move forward with any vitiligo case.⁣

Let’s talk about scar camouflage on the face, because this deserves an honest explanation, not just a service list.⁣

I only work on scars and discoloration from scars. Lighter patches, darker patches, pink scars, if it’s scar tissue, I can likely help.⁣
⁣
What I won’t touch is melasma or dark circles. The skin around the eyes is thin and so visible, and tattoo ink shifts over time. I’m not willing to guess how that ages on something that delicate. If a dermatologist, lasers, or the right skincare can genuinely help, that should come first. Ink is a last resort, not a first option, especially on your face.⁣

I had a client come to me with discoloration left behind from a laser tattoo removal on her cheek. She’d already tried everything, and there was nothing left that could bring the color back. That’s exactly when ink makes sense. We did the scar camouflage, and seeing her reaction in the mirror is something I won’t forget.⁣
