BODE BARS

I know we’ve been a little quiet on here the past few days. First, Lily and I are both safe, and we are so lucky and blessed to be alive. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on us. It means more than you know.

Sunday, on our way home from the Lakeside Village Farmers Market, someone ran a stop sign and hit us near the rear passenger tire. Our car spun out of control, rolled several times, and finally stopped after hitting a fire hydrant. My car was totaled.

The doors wouldn’t open, but thankfully I was able to stay calm, lower my window, and get us both out. There was glass everywhere, even in Lily’s hair and falling off our bodies. We’re both sore, and I have some scrapes and burns from the airbags, but we got to come home together. That’s what matters.

I finally sat down Wednesday evening to go through everything we brought home. A lot of our soaps, displays, crates, and storage bins were completely crushed. With glass, broken plastic, and debris all through the damaged soaps, a lot had to go straight into the trash.

It’s a lot of work lost, but honestly, it’s soap. I can make more soap. My girl is safe. Everything else can be replaced.

I’m sharing this because the holidays are coming, and I know some of you have orders pending or are starting your shopping. Our inventory might be a little wacky while I count what’s left and update the website, and some orders may take a little longer. If your recent order was affected, you’ve already gotten an email from us.

Luckily, I have more stock at home for the next two weeks of markets. I’ll be working on replacing what we lost as my body allows. Right now, my body is requesting a little more bed rest and Netflix. 🙃

Please don’t worry about us. I just wanted to let you know what’s going on and thank you for being patient while we get ourselves—and our little soap business—back together.

The clays can help bind excess surface oil during cleansing and lend a silky feel, while colloidal oats, shea butter, and our blend of olive, coconut, and castor oils round out this thoughtfully handcrafted soap.

Five months in, and I FINALLY got Bode Bars on Google! 😂🐓🧼

Listen… I’m making the soap, wrapping the soap, adding products, building the website, running markets, and figuring out Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok—all while working and being a mom. There are approximately 47 tabs open in my brain, and one of them is playing music I can’t find. 🤪

I’ve built this whole operation myself, and at this point I can say I’m *almost* a pro. Almost… because every time I figure something out, another “upgrade your subscription” message pops up. Pfft! Can I just sell my soap, please?! 😂\*\* cough cough\*\* facebook capping me out at two URL links a month, pfft whatever!
