Why does that callus keep coming back?

Calluses don’t just appear for no reason. They’re your skin’s response to repeated pressure and friction.

When the same area of your foot experiences ongoing stress—from the way you walk, footwear, activity, or other mechanical factors—the outer layer of skin may gradually become thicker to help protect the area.

💡 Today’s Foot Note: Where a callus develops can sometimes tell us something about where your foot is experiencing repeated pressure.

That’s also why simply removing thick skin doesn’t necessarily address why it developed in the first place.

Bare Sole Studio will be closed:

September 10–14: A quick and much-needed vacation.
September 19–24: I’ll be traveling to Puerto Rico to teach my very first Certified Master Pedicurist (CMP) class!
September availability will be limited, so please reserve your appointment early if you would like to visit before or between these dates.

One brace. 6–7 weeks. Visible progress. 👣

This client received her first B/S Brace application in July to gently guide her involuted toenail toward a healthier curvature. When she returned today, the nail already appeared more open and less curved along the sides—with just one brace application.

Toenail correction is a gradual process, and results vary, but this is an encouraging start! We’ll continue monitoring the nail and supporting its progress as it grows.
