A little reminder from your hairstylist + small business owner as we head into my busiest season. 🩵

Behind every appointment is a real person who depends on that income to pay bills, support their family, and keep their business running.

When someone cancels at the last minute, no-shows, or avoids paying their cancellation fee after agreeing to my policies, it isn’t just an inconvenience—it directly impacts my livelihood. More often than not, there isn’t enough time to fill that appointment, leaving me with lost income that I had planned my day around.

As outlined in my booking agreement, appointments canceled within 48 hours of the scheduled service are subject to up to the full service charge, and no-call/no-show appointments are charged 100% of the scheduled service. These policies are agreed to before every appointment is booked.

I don’t have cancellation policies because I enjoy charging people. I have them because they’re necessary to keep my business sustainable. My policies are clearly stated on my website, social media, and throughout the booking process, and a card on file is required for that exact reason.

I’ve always tried to lead with grace. If there’s a true emergency, I do my best to be understanding. Many of you have experienced that firsthand. But grace should never be mistaken for an invitation to ignore the policies that every client agrees to.

Please remember: this is my career, my business, and my livelihood—not a hobby. Respecting your appointment means respecting my time, my income, and the clients who could have booked that appointment if you had canceled with enough notice.

Moving forward, these policies will be enforced consistently. I value each and every one of my clients, and I appreciate your understanding that protecting my schedule is part of protecting my business.
