You don’t need a professional stylist in your bathroom to get a luxury blowout, but you do need to change up your routine. If you’re just blasting your hair with heat until it’s dry, save this post for your next wash day!

The Pro Blueprint:
1️⃣ Prep is everything: Apply a lightweight volumizing mousse to your roots and a heat protectant to your mid-lengths and ends.
2️⃣ Rough dry first: Do NOT start with a round brush on soaking wet hair. Rough dry your hair until it’s about 75%–80% dry.
3️⃣ Section it out: Work in small, manageable sections. If the section is wider than your brush, it won’t dry evenly.
4️⃣ Over-direct for volume: Pull the hair up and forward at the root, not straight down.
5️⃣ The Cool Shot: Once a section is dry, hit it with the cool shot button on your dryer for 5–10 seconds to lock in the shine and hold.
