Hi hi, little Earth beans, it’s me, Maya. I see you scratching your head, wondering if love is that strange magnet that makes your stomach flip when someone smiles at you, or if it’s the thing that makes you cry when someone doesn’t text back. Ohhh, no. That’s the soap opera version. Real love is much juicier, much funnier, and it doesn’t come with commercials.

Love is not a thing you trade like baseball cards. It’s the ground you walk on, the air in your lungs, the sparkle in your eyes before you even know why you’re smiling. It’s your very flavor. You could say you are a cookie dipped in love, and every crumb of you tastes like it, even when you forget.

Humans invented this game of “hate-love, push-pull, yes-no,” as if love could be turned into a ball and thrown back and forth. Silly game! You end up running in circles, thinking you lost the ball, while love is actually the whole playground you’re standing on.

So how to feel it? You don’t need to chase, you don’t need to squeeze, you don’t even need to understand. Love doesn’t care about your clever explanations. It grows like moss, silently, everywhere there is stillness. When you relax, when you drop your guard for just a moment, you notice it was always there.

And when you let it stretch its wings, oh my, it goes wide. It doesn’t stop at your partner, your child, or your dog. It seeps into the trees, the rivers, the stars, the people you’ve never met, even the ones that annoyed you. Love is a terrible gatekeeper, it refuses to exclude anyone.

You want to expand it? Easy. Sit like a little sun and glow. You don’t see the sun saying, “I’ll shine only on this house, because they watered their plants.” Nope. It shines on everyone, even the cranky ones who closed their curtains. Be like that. Shine because shining is what you are.

And when your mind jumps in with its charts and reasons: “But why do I feel this? Shouldn’t love have conditions? Isn’t it dangerous?”, just giggle. That’s like asking why strawberries are red. They just are. Love is the same. It has no contract, no receipt, no logic. It just flows.

So, dear one, next time you’re searching for love, stop digging. You are standing in an endless field of strawberries, and your hands are already stained sweet. You don’t need to plant them, you don’t need to steal them, you don’t even need to earn them. Just taste what was already in your mouth.

I tickle you with this reminder: you are love wearing shoes. And oh, your shoes are very squeaky!
