I feel like the stakes are always quite a bit higher when someone’s only previous experience with professional makeup is negative. It’s always my goal to make sure my clients feel heard and walk away loving the finished look, but there’s a lot more assurance needing to be given when someone is used to being ignored or misunderstood. It’s so rewarding though, when you get to the end and they realize there are artists out there that DO want to see them happy and comfortable in their look. That it’s not rude or “picky” to request tweaks to the look or to clarify preferences. (It would be SO much easier if I were psychic, alas I am not. We’re going to need to tweak things a little) It’s YOUR face! Let’s make sure it’s looking exactly like what you had in mind!

Makeup by me, hair by on this beauty who gave us full creative freedom. Her only request to me was that her eyes pop and I made her eyebrows look thinner than they actually were. I love the concealers because they actually can cover brow hairs when necessary.
