Some of the best color education happens when the client comes back healed.

Fresh work can only tell you so much. Healed work shows you how your pigment choice, technique and the client’s skin actually came together.

This is why Teryn encourages artists to document everything. Record the pigment, formula, technique and skin observations. Take clear photos. Then compare those notes with the healed result.

Over time, you start recognizing patterns. You stop relying only on color names and begin building real knowledge from your own work.

That’s where confidence comes from. Not memorizing someone else’s recipe, but understanding why you’re making each decision.

You can learn the technique. You can learn the theory.

But there’s something different about doing this work with experience, instinct, and real love for the craft. ❤️

PMU is technical, but it’s also an art.

Be an artist. ✨

Gray brows? Don’t automatically grab the orange. 👀

Gray is what you’re seeing, but it doesn’t tell you what caused it.

It could be the pigment, the depth, too much saturation, the skin, scar tissue, or layers of old work underneath. And if you don’t understand the why, adding more color can make things even muddier.

So before you correct, pause and assess.

Does it need color correction?
Does it need to be lightened first?
Or is referring out the best decision?

This is exactly why Teryn teaches artists to stop guessing and start understanding what’s actually happening in the skin.

“Which one is better?”

It’s probably the most common question in PMU removal… but it’s also the wrong question.

The best artists don’t pick a favorite removal method. They evaluate the cosmetic tattoo in front of them and choose the approach that’s most appropriate for that case.

Swipe through to see why changing one question can completely change the treatment plan.

👇 We’d love to hear from you…

What’s the biggest misconception you hear about PMU removal?

There’s no universal “right” dilution ratio.

Every client, every pigment, and every healed result requires thoughtful decision-making.

Swipe through for 5 things every PMU artist should know before diluting pigment.

Which tip was your biggest takeaway?

“I already drew them exactly how I want them.” 😌

PMU artists… you know. 🤣

👇 Which client pre-draw do you see the MOST?

1️⃣ High arches
2️⃣ Low tails
3️⃣ Uneven brows
4️⃣ Long tails
5️⃣ Too close together
6️⃣ Floating Brows
7️⃣ Thick & blocky

…or tell us the one we missed. 😂👇

You can build a successful PMU career creating beautiful work.

But eventually…

A client will sit in your chair with old brows.

With migration.

With unwanted color.

Or simply wanting a fresh start.

And in that moment…

Your ability as an artist won’t be measured by what you can create.

It will be measured by how confidently you can help them move forward.

Li-FT® Online Course with Teryn Darling is the only official manufacturer-approved saline lightening course, created to help artists confidently approach PMU lightening and correction through science-backed education and proven techniques.

Because great artists don’t just know how to implant pigment.

They know what to do when things don’t go as planned.

Most artists are taught how to implant pigment.

Very few are taught what they’re actually implanting.

And that changes everything.

PMU pigment isn’t “just color” in a bottle.

Every formula is made up of carefully selected colorants, carrier solutions, and supporting ingredients—each playing a role in how a pigment implants, heals, and performs over time.

When you understand what’s inside the bottle, you stop making decisions based on the label…

…and start making decisions based on science.

Because beautiful healed results don’t happen by accident.

They begin with informed decisions.
