We've all heard that some of the things that we eat and use on our skin have chemicals in them that can have harmful effects on our body. I wish I could say that I started this journey with this on my mind or with the mindset of living a "natural life" but that couldn't be further from the truth. The truth is my co worker had begun to make her own bath and body products and she brought some whipped body butter for me to try and I instantly fell in love with it. I asked her how she made it and she told me that she only used natural oils and butters to create her products. I went home that day and started reading the ingredients in the products that I frequently buy and I was shocked to realize that not only could I not pronounce half the words listed on the bottle but most of them could be considered unsafe to use. That's when it hit me that I wanted to change the way I treat my body and offer my family a natural alternative to our daily regiment. I now make all of our soaps, lotions, body scrubs and lip balms. There is no reason for us to continue to take advantage of this precious gift of life that God has given us by using products that are potentially harmful to our body. There are safer natural options available. What an incredible evening at Power in Pink! This event brought people together through fitness, community, and a shared commitment to raising awareness about breast cancer. It was my first time combining business with fitness, and it was such a meaningful and uplifting experience! Thank you, April, for inviting me to be a vendor and allowing me to be part of an event that shines a light on breast cancer awareness and honors the strength and resilience of survivors. Your dedication to supporting those impacted by breast cancer is deeply personal to me, as I know several women who are survivors. I’m grateful that I was able to be apart of this event and hope to have the opportunity to return next year.
