Out of office with a heavy heart 💔
Heading to Fort Walton Beach, Florida with my Lucy girl. She was recently diagnosed with IVDD, and Monday she's having a disc ablation — a procedure that stops the disease from progressing. It's only performed in 5 US states, with a 97% success rate.
I have a full schedule October 3rd and plan to be there. Until then, please be patient with messages — I'll catch up when I return. If you're the praying type, we'll take them all 🙏
Now the harder part, which I share as a precautionary tale. I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, especially after Mabel's knee surgery — but bully breeds, please hear me out.
The absolute best....most loving, funniest, with the best personalities. Designer, man-made breeds come with a cost. Frenchies — minis, exotics, fluffies, merles — even worse. Most of these babies weren't meant to survive😭 created to sell.
My breeder is AKC registered, the entire lineage is on the AKC website...means NOTHING. Registration is simple — no physical meeting, no exam.
My girls are the joy and light of my life, the sweetest, funniest dogs I've ever ...they are not well 😢 Both have had BOAS surgery for their airways. Mabel's had a full knee reconstruction. Now Lucy's spine — it literally looks like an armadillo. Mabel's is flat like a tabletop, but don't let that fool you: two luxating patellas, double hip dysplasia, hemivertebrae, neck compression.
They keep getting UTIs, and apparently the only real answer is reconstructive surgery for hooded vulvas — around $900, on top of $200–300 per UTI. I clean them constantly (Duoxo S3 PYO pads, 3% chlorhexidine, then A&D, Squishface wrinkle cream or Coat Defense powder) and it only soothes temporarily. We HAVE insurance — with this breed it's a necessity. I just don't want to put them through the healing and the burning urination 😫
If you're looking for any type of bulldog... I say I'll never have another… but they are truly the funniest little dogs in the world, and I have found reputable breeders however here's always a chance of predisposed genetic conditions.
If you have a bulldog or any long-backed dog — please, no stairs, and your best efforts to keep them from jumping.
They're only 2 years and 3 months old. This has been absolutely heartbreaking. 💔

I absolutely love working on scars ❤️. My client had Stevens-Johnson syndrome as a child, and her lips were actually sealed shut leaving her with no defined lip line. We did a corrective lip, blush In 2020 with a touchup late 2021.
She came in last week for a retouch and honestly, I was shocked at how much color was still there after all these years. Sometimes permanent makeup isn't just about beauty, it's about giving someone back what they never had. Thank you for trusting me all these years ❤️
*** no retouching, obviously her skin is kind of red and her lips are swollen right afterward. The whiteness around the Cupid‘s bow is numbing with epinephrine.

 Please welcome my newest apprentice Felicia! She's been  with me a month now. She's a nurse which is super helpful and puts her little ahead already.  She lives in Louisville and is dedicated enough to drive here and back a few times a week in addition to nursing hours. She is originally from Texas — and she has fit right in from day one. Fresh defined  powder brows. She was looking for definition and to fill in sparse areas. We  matched her actual brow color and of course this will fade and soften about 30%.
