Alumni Reunion -Ethical Decision Making: The Gray Areas of Scope of Practice
We all start our careers as LMTs with the intention to practice with the most integrity and professionalism by staying within our scope of practice. How does that look over time?
Do we push the boundaries of our training and experience? How would it look if we were designated Health Care Professionals (HCPs)?
What do we want as a profession moving forward?
In this class, we will explore the boundaries of our scope of practice and the gray areas that may not be well understood as well as how we can continue to elevate our profession as a whole.
I look forward to seeing you! Ann

✅ Fact: Massage has many health benefits, like reduction in stress, tension, heart rate, blood pressure, and more.
✅ Also a fact: Massage does not remove toxins that are stored in the body.
So you may be thinking... how does massage affect toxins in my body? Here's what you need to know.
Does massage get rid of lactic acid?
〰️ It may help address the buildup of lactic acid in the muscles, but it does not flush out lactic acid.
Can I sweat out toxins?
〰️ Sweat can contain some small amounts of environmental toxins like sodium chloride and phosphate, urea, ammonia, sulfates, creatinine, and fats.
Should I drink water after a massage?
〰️ Yes, this will not flush toxins from the body but hydration is always important.
Can massage protect me against environmental toxins and stressors?
〰️ Because massage can help boost your immune system, it can help your body fight off some of the harmful effects of environmental toxins; but it doesn’t flush them from your system.
