happy world oceans day 🌊 yesterday we participated in the beach clean up for world oceans day hosted by + and it was literally the most amazing experience connecting with madre tierra !! 🌎 🌊 can u believe we collected nearly 20lbs of waste in 3 hours ?!
let’s see… cigarette butts and plastic bottle caps were trending on the beach. And then there was random trash like disenegraded chancletas. and while we could’ve been out there for way longer digging for microplastics (which there was soo much of), it still felt so good to do our part to better our south florida beaches and ocean together as a team.
celebrating world oceans day with and was so special and we’re so grateful to them for hosting us !
next beach clean up is july 5th on Deerfield Beach, sirenas. who’s coming with? 🥰

a pool really hates to see us coming… fr lol ok, so we hate to break it to ya, sirenaaaasss but enjoying the pool requires before AND after hair care. here’s why: pools have chemicals that are drying and can strip your hair oils which can leave your hair vulnerable to breakage. your scalp can become dry and irritated, which also sucks.
color also hates chlorine and the cooper in the water can turn our blondies green, yes ma’am you heard that correctly!
last and definitely our least favorite thing, is that your hair can become SUPER frizzy and stiff the longer your hair stays in the chemicals.
so here’s the routine you NEED to steal before your next pool day:
1. BEFORE getting in, saturate your hair with water and work in your favorite leave-in conditioner generously (consider using a water-resistant leave in)
2. wear a braid or any of your favorite protective styles and cover every strand with a hat (sorry, but it’s absolutely necessary to help protect your hair)
3. AFTER your dip, wash your hair asap with color safe clarifying shampoo to remove the chemical build up
4. use deep conditioner to replenish your hair’s hydration (do this at least 1x a week)
