Loving My Skin
Loving My Skin Spa started as a small dream with three women. Loving My Skin is filled with awarded experts.
Our team has grown, our space has expanded, and we have won local and international awards for our skin transformations.
It's Day 22 of the Social Selfie Bootcamp Challenge.
Today, I'm combining Anna Lotan, my ATA Applicator, Hypo21, and my Skin Wand Pro for my ultimate glow routine. This video will certainly be "different" and quirky, but that is who I am at my core. Basically a grown up with an inner child that refuses to grow-up, led with a nerdy brain. π€ͺ It's a whole mess of fun and chaos!
One thing this challenge has taught me is that consistency beats perfection every time.
Quite ironic because I have a tattoo that says "Progress over Perfection" on my wrist. It is my daily reminder that consistency each day leads the progression....instead of pursuing "Perfection."
Hi everyone! It's Day 20 of the Social Selfie Bootcamp Challenge.
Today, I'm using my ATA Applicator and reflecting on how much can change when you commit to yourself.
Twenty days ago, I wasn't sure if I could show up every day, but here I am.
It's got me thinking... what else am I capable of?
Maybe it's joining the judging table at The Skin Games.
Maybe it's taking on a new challenge.
Maybe it's bringing in new staff, so I can step back.
Maybe it is finding a bigger location.
Maybe it's simply believing in myself a little more.

Arizona summer is a free radical feast. UV radiation, extreme heat, and oxidative stress are hitting your skin daily β and your cells are paying the price. βοΈπ¬
Free radicals drive:
β Collagen breakdown
β Pigmentation activation
β Inflammation and barrier disruption
β Accelerated photoaging
Your defense? Two extraordinary Γclat du Teint serums that target your antioxidant needs. Use one or both!
πΏ **Viola Tricolor Waterdrop** β Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (stable Vitamin C) delivers antioxidant protection without irritation. Niacinamide intercepts UV-triggered inflammation AND melanin transfer simultaneously. A 5-weight HA system and Ceramide complex fortify your barrier against ongoing environmental damage. 100% acne-safe. All skin types.
π± **Hydra-Intensive Serum** β A 7-vegetable antioxidant complex: Tomato, Carrot, Broccoli, Rice (ferulic acid), Celery, Cabbage, and Turnip β multiple antioxidant pathways protecting against different free radical types at once. Triple-weight HA for multi-depth hydration. Lightweight, 100% acne-safe, and for all skin types, and perfectly suited to Arizona summer heat.
Applied every morning UNDER your moisturizer and mineral SPF, these two create a multi-pathway antioxidant shield β intercepting damage before it becomes the pigmentation and premature aging you'll be correcting in fall.
Real formulations. Verified ingredients. Real protection. SkinNerd approved. π

When we say "customized facial" at Loving My Skin Spa β we mean it. And a significant part of what makes our 60-minute (and longer) corrective facials extraordinary is what happens with our hands. πΈπ¬
Our facial massage techniques are not a relaxation bonus. They are a clinical component of the treatment. Here's what we offer and what each does:
β **Facial Sculpting Massage**
Targeted lifting and contouring techniques that work with facial muscles and fascia to improve tone, definition, and the natural "lift" of facial contours. Increases circulation, delivers oxygen to skin cells, and enhances product absorption by up to 50%.
πͺ¨ **Gua Sha**
Traditional Chinese tool technique using a smooth stone to release fascial adhesions, stimulate lymphatic flow, and reduce tension held in the jaw, neck, and brow. Particularly effective for clients who hold tension in the masseter (jaw clenching) β which directly affects facial contour over time.
π§ **Lymphatic Facial Drainage**
Gentle, rhythmic technique targeting the lymphatic vessels of the face and neck. Reduces puffiness, clears metabolic waste and inflammatory fluid from tissue, and is particularly valuable for perimenopausal clients where lymphatic function is already compromised by hormonal changes.
π **Intraoral/Buccal Massage**
Performed with gloved hands inside the mouth, targeting the buccal fat pad and internal facial muscles. Releases deep tension patterns, softens nasolabial folds, improves jawline definition, and addresses holding patterns that topical products simply cannot reach.
All techniques are available in our 60-minute (or longer) customized corrective facial treatments. π
It's Day 19 of the Social Selfie Bootcamp Challenge.
Today I'm using my Skin Wand Pro and confessing my biggest skincare excuse...
'I was too busy.'
The funny thing is, I wasn't too busy to take care of everyone else. I was just putting myself last. This challenge has reminded me that I deserve the same loving care I give my clients every day.

Why You're More Sun Sensitive After Menopause:
Here's something most women are never told: estrogen was actively protecting your skin from UV damage. And after menopause, that protection is significantly reduced.
Estrogen supports multiple UV defense mechanisms in the skin:
π¬ Upregulates antioxidant enzyme production (SOD, catalase, glutathione peroxidase) β your internal free radical defense system
π¬ Supports DNA repair enzymes β the cellular machinery that corrects UV-induced DNA damage before it becomes permanent
π¬ Regulates melanin distribution β contributing to more even, controlled photoprotection
π¬ Supports skin thickness β thicker skin physically absorbs more UV before it reaches deeper, more vulnerable layers where the biggest aging happens
π¬ Anti-inflammatory β dampening the inflammatory response triggered by UV exposure
After menopause, all of these mechanisms are diminished. The result:
πΈ UV damage accumulates faster at the same exposure levels as before
πΈ DNA repair is slower β increasing photoaging and risk
πΈ Inflammatory response to UV is more intense β worsening redness, sensitivity, and pigmentation
πΈ Free radical cascade from UV is less efficiently neutralized internally due to the thinner skin layers
This is why SPF alone is not enough post-menopause. You need:
β
Topical antioxidants to compensate for reduced internal antioxidant enzyme activity
β
Consistent professional treatment cadence. It is a dance! Sometimes it has more "umph" and sometimes it is focused on more hydration and support.
β
Internal peptide and supplement support for DNA repair pathways at higher concentrations vs topical applications
β
Mineral SPF β which does not generate heat the way chemical filters do
Arizona summer + post-menopause skin requires a protocol built around this reality. π

It's Day 18 of the Social Selfie Bootcamp Challenge.
Today I'm taking a few minutes for myself with my ATA Applicator (fresh from the refrigerator) and a hydrating leave on mask. I "may" have overdone it by working in the garden. All of me needs to cool down and enjoy the air conditioning. Perfect time to take care of myself!
One thing I've learned during this challenge is that self-care doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's just about slowing down and being consistent.
If I could give advice to Day 1 Me, I'd say, "keep going. You are worth it."

The great Arizona skincare seasonal migration. ππ΅
JANUARY SHELF:
π« Rich cream (the big one)
π« Another rich cream (backup)
π« Facial oil (yes, an oil)
π« Heavy overnight mask
π« The balm that felt like putting butter on your face
π« One brave humidifier doing the Lord's work
JULY SHELF:
π§ Face mist #1
π§ Face mist #2
π§ Face mist #3 (different formula, obviously)
π§ Face mist #4 β this one lives in the skincare fridge
βοΈ SPF (five of them. different textures for different vibes)
πΏ Lightweight gel moisturizer
π¦ The January creams, relocated to a box under the sink in protective custody
Yes β a skincare fridge is a completely real and completely justified purchase for Arizona summers. Tiny. Countertop. Fits perfectly in your bathroom. Chilled face mists on a 115Β°F day are not a luxury. They are a coping mechanism and we stand by that.
Store your Γclat toners and serums in the skincare fridge. Apply cold. Feel human again. π
Tag someone who needs a skincare fridge intervention. ππ

In Arizona summer, your morning skincare routine is your first line of defense. And the ORDER you apply products matters just as much as the products themselves. βοΈ
Here is Amanda's Γclat du Teint AZ Summer Morning Protocol β and the science behind each step:
1οΈβ£ Foaming Cleanser
Remove overnight skin debris. Apply to damp skin and massage to your heart's desire. Remove with water or a clean, soft cloth.
2οΈβ£ Hydrating Toner
Restore hydration, prep the barrier for maximum absorption of everything after, and restores the skin's microbiome. Apply to still-damp skin for enhanced absorption.
3οΈβ£ HydraIntensive Serum
Actives go on before moisturizer β always. The skin must be able to absorb concentrated ingredients without an occlusive barrier in the way.
4οΈβ£ HydraFirm Cream
Seals in your serum actives, enhances pe*******on and hydration, and creates the foundation for SPF adhesion.
5οΈβ£ After Care Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA+++ β ALWAYS LAST!
Zinc oxide + titanium dioxide mineral filters, niacinamide, hyaluronic acids, ceramides, and peptides. SPF is the absolute final step β it is a physical shield and must sit on the surface to do its job.
