Happy 1st Birthday to The Wild Dandelion Collective + Micro Salon 🎉🍾🥳

✨All small businesses are conceived on the hopes and dreams of artists, creators, makers and professionals who are passionate about their craft. Countless hours of what should have been rest and sleep we spend laying awake business planning, envisioning the venture - The Dream. The Wild Dandelion Collective + Micro Salon was no exception. As a professional in the beauty industry for 20+ years, my craft is also a strong passion. I would consider myself and identify as a true creative + artist, I realize I have a palethora of passions and hobbies that make me tick. I had dreamt of owning a space where I could house local artist, makers, and companies that create a product or service, giving them a safe space to make create, sell and build community. I wanted my space to have a strong emphasis on women owned/queer owned/ minority owned businesses, giving them the opportunity to dream, create and vend their product, in an environment that is collaborative with other artists and creators. I truly believe when we create together, we learn together and this creates an organic unity of amazing minds!

✨This is the part that’s harder for me, as a beauty professional, we are conditioned to listen and talk about you not us. I am a pretty private person but I believe as a small business owner who is trying to organically connect with her community, I need to be extremely vulnerable, brutally honest and transparanent. Last year, 8-1-2025, I committed + signed a lease to my first brick + mortar space, off to curate my dream of the collective. Simultaneously with me turning 40 yrs old, finalizing my divorce and jumping into single motherhood. I had created the nomadic salon before which was one of the biggest business undertakings, during a pandemic while being pregnant. I was up for it. After signing a commitment on the pretence I was a “shoe in” for a women owned SBA loan, spending 9 months applying, tedious business planning, complete transparency of my business, assets, and personal finances, I was denied on 3 different loans due to our current administration 🙄🥹 for me it was fuel to my fire, I had to figure out how to get the business opened and started without business funding. I unfortunately put the majority of the build out on credit cards and personal investments. Credit cards are now at 30% interest rate which I can thank our current administration for, and as a small business, the cost of operating, business taxes, our products are at an all time high.🙈

Where are we now? The boutique storefront is occupied by &Co a women/queer/family owned, adorable boutique focusing on self care items, home goods, beautiful and unique art, jewelry curators, and local novelty gifts + treats. I am grateful for our collaboration and can’t wait to see what the future holds. WE ARE HIRING beauty professionals, stylists, and MUA to join our sustainable micro salon. We are an exclusive Salon, retailing their haircare, supplied at the wet bar/shampoo area, and styling products on main floor. Advanced education is important to not only myself but Davines too. You will have access to these classes and courses as a renter. I also am a regional MARIE HAIR EXTENSIONS educator and offer advanced training courses/certifications for my staff. We are missing an element of creatives, and I’m on a strong mission to find my tribe!
